Buying a used Peloton

Hello. Considering buying a used Peloton, and found one for $600 that’s a Gen 3. Not the cheapest one I’ve seen but not too bad. She said she rode it 27 times (she counted in her app), and it does look brand new in the pictures, and looks to be a really nice house. Bought in 2020, which is my only slightly concern, as I read something about potential software issues between 4-8 years old, is there any truth to that?

Any advice on the pricing of this bike and whether I should go for it, and if not, what I should be looking for? Trying to stay in that price range and was considering a Schwinn IC4 for flexibility, but the Pelotons do seem really cool.

Williamson Tyndall Tips

Hey everyone. Looking for any tips or advice on either of these peaks. Things you may have learned, experienced or wish you knew.

Still in the research phases but my focus would be on Williamson, with Tyndall potentially being a bonus on the way back. I realize that’s very strenuous day so that’s why I’d take stock at the junction to see if it’d be worth bagging or leaving for another day. I’m totally fine with coming back to things if it doesn’t feel right and have done so plenty times in the past.

I’d plan to sleep in my car the night before, either 20 minutes away at Grays Meadow or just off one of the forest service roads leading up to the TH.

Checking recent AllTrails comments, reading trip reports and blogs, YouTubes, all the resources to know what to expect.

Any other tips or just general conversation would be great. Would love to hear your experiences!

Langley Summit

Thank you to everyone that responded to my post last week. On Saturday 7/25, we did Old Army up and New Army down. It was an absolutely beautiful day on the mountain. This was only my 3rd “California 14er” but I’m thinking about making a goal to do them all—or at least the 12 main Sierra peaks for now.

Langley Suggestions

Planning to hit Langley this Saturday, and after a bit of research, I’m reading that going up Old Army Pass and coming down New Army Pass is widely preferred if you’re wanting to make a loop of it.

Has anyone done Old Army up to Langley, and then cutting over to the PCT exiting through Cottonwood Pass to make more of a loop of it? Any reasons why or why not?
