My family and I will be staying between Honeoye and Canandaigua lakes, near the Bristol Mtn Resort and are looking for recommendations for our vacation in 2 weeks! My son is almost 9 and my daughter is 5.

We love hiking and are looking to see some beautiful waterfalls.

We also absolutely love ice cream and would love a list of local ice cream spots!

Whats the deal with Roseland waterpark? Is it open? I see widely varying reviews from it’s not open, it’s open and fantastic, it’s open but rides are broken. How about Seabreeze in Rochester? My son loves water parks, so I was hoping one of these would be open and have good reviews.

We do plan on taking the kids to Niagara Falls too. Last time I was here was about 10 years ago in November and it was lovely basically having it all to ourselves. Any recommendations for beating the crowds?

I have two loans dating back to 2007 that were consolidated and were initially serviced by Nelnet. Both loans have the same interest rate, with Loan 1 having an initial principal balance that was $7,000 lower than Loan 2. The servicing was transferred to Sloan sometime in 2020.

I just noticed that Loan 1 has unpaid accrued interest of approx. $1,000. I've been making the minimum payment, sometimes even more than the minimum, and never took any forbearance during COVID. The Sloan customer service rep said that in June 2023, Sloan began allocating payments to pay off Loan 2 in full, and it is almost paid off in full now. I just checked the special payment instructions, and the standard allocation was selected, and I've never had anything else selected.

My questions - why would they change the payment allocation? Did they have any authority to do so? Is this going to increase the amount of interest paid on Loan 1 or the total amount paid?
