Hey everyone,

I have a really weird problem with my phone and I’m hoping someone can explain what’s going on or how to fix it.

I bought a genuine, physical Xiaomi 15 (White, 512GB/16GB). I checked the official model number engraved on the back glass and everything

The problem is that my phone has been stuck on the August 2025 security patch for months and won’t get any new updates. When I check my "About Phone" settings, the software specs make no sense:

Device name: Xiaomi 15

OS version: 2.0.225.0.WNNMIXM

Android version: 16 (BP2A.250605.015)

Chat gpt pointed out to me that the letters "NN" in the software version actually belong to the Xiaomi 14T Pro, not the Xiaomi 15. So for some reason, my actual Xiaomi 15 is running software meant for a completely different phone. Because of this the automatic updater is totally stuck and won't download anything new.

I bought the phone like this. I can access the official Recovery Menu screen just fine, but I don't know much about flashing software.

Has anyone ever seen this happen before? How can I completely wipe this incorrect software off my phone and put the actual, official Xiaomi 15 software back on it so I can get normal updates again?
