I made a post about this fic a while ago, but I'm finally finishing it, and chapter 5 is basically everything I wanted to explore with this idea.

This chapter includes:

• People assuming Wednesday dresses the way she does just to get attention

• The whole "why doesn't she just wear the school uniform?" thing.

• Wednesday proving, once again, that people have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.

•A little sick!Wednesday & hurt/comfort.

• Enid absolutely LOSING IT over a pretty major revelation from a very sleepy Wednesday.

• Enid actually being there for her (something we were robbed of in 2x06)

• Enid going completely feral for her girl.

And that's just this chapter.

The fic as a whole is basically me taking all those misconceptions people have about Wednesday and slowly tearing them apart.

1. People assuming the Addamses are murderers.

2. People thinking their habits are just weird and disturbing.

3. People making assumptions about how they feel about sexuality.

4. People assuming Wednesday doesn't have feelings.

And Enid slowly realizing that the girl everyone thinks they understand is actually nothing like the version they've made up in their heads.

Anyway! I'm very close to finishing this one, so if that sounds like your thing... maybe give it a shot.

I've only been writing in this fandom for a little while (I've written for other fandoms before), and I realized pretty quickly that my favorite thing isn't really plot, it's Wednesday.

The show spends so much time throwing her into murders, monsters, prophecies, and near-death experiences that we barely get to see her exist as a person. I love writing Enid slowly figuring her out: her habits, the things she believes, the bizarre little things she considers completely normal, and watching everyone else completely misunderstand her in the process.

So... here's me shamelessly plugging my fics because AO3 sure isn't gonna do it for me.

1. This Is Why

Everyone at Nevermore (and basically all of Jericho) already has an opinion about the Addams family.

They're murderers. They're creepy. They're deeply unsettling.

Enid never bought into any of that.

...But she does spend an unhealthy amount of time trying to figure out why Wednesday is the way she is.

Or: five times Wednesday corrected people's assumptions about herself + one time Enid was very happy she'd been right about her all along.

2. I Can't See Straight and My Hands Are Tied

Enid Sinclair never let herself think about what dating Wednesday Addams would be like. There was no point imagining something she'd never have.

Then Wednesday confessed.

Now Enid can't stop thinking about holding her hand. Sitting too close. Maybe kissing her.

But figuring out how to date Wednesday Addams might be the scariest thing Enid has ever done.

3. She Lives in Daydreams with Me

Five times Enid got jealous because people couldn't stop staring at Wednesday + one time she found out Wednesday had been staring back.

4. I Want You So Bad (It's Driving Me Mad) (Mature)

Enid Sinclair is handling being in a relationship perfectly. If she occasionally needs a cold shower after making out with Wednesday...

Well.

That's just a personal problem she'll eventually figure out.
