This game is beautifully made
I first played LA Noire back in 2011 when it was launched. I had a gaming PC at the time, bought it on Steam and played it.
I remember loving the game and it left me one of those things that very few games do, yet I can’t name it. Like a sense of achieving something remarkable and leaving that imprint on someone.
Fast forward 15 years, I no longer have a PC but have a PS5. Some random night, I come across LA Noire in the PS Store and immediately buy it.
Currently playing the game at “The White Shoe Slaying” case. The dialogue is so sharp. Rusty is a perfect 1940’s macho with the misogynistic view and the whole shtick that was so common back then.
The cases are legit interesting, the voice acting is great, the Noire movie-feel feels real, and the game’s graphics and shooting/driving mechanics are much better than a ton of other games, including some GTA’s in my opinion (even though they’re from the same company).
I think they nailed the police aspect of it, especially when you become a detective. The relationship between the two of them, then with the coroner and the other processing cops at the station, their boss and so on.
Sometimes the story absorbs you in a way it feels that you’re watching a movie. It’s phenomenal.
