Backyard gets zero winter sun for 5 months — is real grass even possible?

South-facing backyard in Brisbane. House + alfresco block the sun from April through August. Most of the 8m-deep yard gets zero direct sun all winter.

Front yard is full sun — no issues there.

Backyard is the problem. Even Sir Walter Buffalo, would get almost no light on 80% of the yard for nearly half the year. I'm told the "shade tolerance" means ~3 hours of dappled light, not full building shade for months.

Anyone successfully run real grass in a yard that's in full building shade all winter?
