We have an 800 sq. ft. 2BHK apartment with 2 adults and a newborn baby. Since the baby arrived, we’re planning to hire a maid for the first time.

Area : Vandalur - Kilambakkam area

The work required is:
Sweeping – daily
Mopping – daily
Washing vessels – daily
Sunday off

I’ve never hired domestic help before because I’ve always done all the cleaning myself, so I have no idea what’s considered normal in terms of salary, expectations.

What would be a fair monthly salary for this workload? Also, are there any important questions I should ask before hiring someone (experience, timings, holidays, demands etc.) or things I should discuss upfront to avoid misunderstandings later?
