Sobrang daming questionable coaching decisions: not letting Bulandres go when it's clear na Zero na yung output niya; removal of the tall MBs in favor of smaller options.

Tapos nakakaloka yung last Four Serves - ang target is yung mga liberos na puro error ang ginawa. Sayang.

[Unpopular Opinion] Taka wanted to expose the Bench to the best of ASEAN Volleyball has to offer.

I think Nagwhite flag na si Taka this game and let the perennial bench warmers have some game time. As much as I want a win or something competitive - clear as day na we also need to know the level of the field, given the lack of tournaments. Medyo, natuto na rin siguro siya nung pagod na pagod yung girls vs INA after three straight similar first six.

Shockingly, di talaga favored ni Taka si Ytang for some reason. Ang siguro reason ko is her height (175). Smallest of the four. Pero siya talaga ang star ng team in this game. Grabe yung offense and grit. Tinry niya talaga to perform. I still think na she is a good prospect as an OPP player if wala tayong makuhang terminating OPP and maging available ang taller opps para lang merong cap tayo sa gitna.

Very bad game for the others. Hirap pa rin si Alinsug sa offense, and now pati narin sa defense. Eya is the Modern Valdez, in terms of Offense versus defense. Daming lapses and still a big liability sa fluidity ng game natin. Thea is a gonner. Sayang yung height. Sobrang lamya at nagpapaiwan lagi. Mapili sa sets pa. Of the bench first six, siya yung ok lang siguro ibench ulit for Sharma or even Dell para lang may konting presence in the middle. Santos' game is not translating dahil sobrang placement heavy talaga siya. Need ng consistent at penetrating power talaga INTL. Bad game for ALBA. No precise setting, puro fookelya setting ina mo lang. Dawn was fine, her best yet this tourney.

Disappointed lang ako sa coaching staff. Wala man lang konting tulong sa timeouts lalo't kita na nga na hirap ang second six in terms of consistency. DE BRITO would never let them do two errors consecutively.

2nd six wise. Jia is dependable in this game. Infer naman consistent siya even in Leg 1. Bella is awful overall. Wapakels si Auntie this game.

2026 Formosa Invitational Tournament: SGA storms to the final after upsetting Earth Power EPV in Straight Sets.

Daming blocks, kanyunan si Tubu (28pts) with strong support from Molina and Nolasco right behind with 12 points each. Nolasco is a NT prospect -Nimble blocking at meron actual offense. Also, welcome minutes for Perdido (7pts) who took over Arroyo's slot late Set 1.

For some reason, natalo ng EPV ang THAI team, which opened the slot for the finals for SGA. AS per Volleybox, sila ang lowest-ranking TAI Pro team.

FORMOSA CUP: SGA loses in Four Sets vs Supreme Tip Chonburi SPV

Walang nagpost lol

Other than the great Set 3 (anchored by Tubu), na-basic-basic lang ng Pseudo-U23 team (with Super Senior) ng THA ang Bagets ng SGA.

Lahat ng MBs and OPPs played. Medyo di makabasag si AC (Set 1 and 2 - 13 pts), at basang-basa si Tubu by Set 4 (26 pts with only 2 full sets). MB-wise, wala personally impressive. Good spiking for both though. Di makaconnect si Doria-Aquino. Great performance si Mondeniedo. As noted, libero ang target though mas gamit si Larozza over Eroa. Medyo in or out pa rin sila Molina(19pts) and Arroyo(23pts), pero huge numbers

Straight-set loss. Medyo at loss pa rin ang Men's sa court and grabe yung sayang sa third set—noong sinayang nila ang 2-point lead nila with untimely errors. Photo courtesy of One Sports.

Still think sila Magalaman and Josh ang best players ng team. Not-so-impressive ang pins, sadly.

ALAS MEN SENIOR Team finishes 5th after winning vs MYA, ALAS BOYS U18 Team Finishes 10th after falling vs INA (c/o Volleytrails)

Indonesia wrapped up its 2026 AVC Boys' U18 Volleyball Championship campaign on a high note, clinching 9th place after defeating Alas Pilipinas in four sets: 23-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-14.

Indonesia bounced back after dropping the opening set to finish the tournament with a strong victory, while Alas Pilipinas settled for 10th place (c/o Volleytrail)

>Medyo nabasa na ang BOYS after the second set, AND INA just marched forward. Not really much difference between the two teams defensively. Impressive run for that #8 kid. Relatively gusto ko yung setter pero sobrang Maka-OH niya this game.

Alas Pilipinas wrapped up its 6th SEA V Cup – Leg 1 campaign on a high note, finishing in 5th place after defeating Myanmar in straight sets: 25-21, 28-26, 25-22.

The Philippines closes out Leg 1 with a convincing victory and will now shift its focus to the next leg of the tournament to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from July 22-26. They drop to No. 97 in the FIVB World Rankings (c/o Volleytrail)

>Thank god naglet go na si Frigoni with his rigid first and second six. Nakita na si Jude Garcia in his local position AND naexpose na din yung likes ni Book, who did well for a defensive position. Naghahabol sila for most of Set 1 and was almost overtaken in Set 2 - buti di na nila pinakawalan.

[EDIT 1]. Congrats to our poolmates (CAM and INA) who made it to the finals. First Award din ng CAM this SEA VCUP. Pool Death pala tayo niyern.

National Team Decline Decorum

Food for u-thought lang.

Kasi no one is taking this issue in spades, kuno. Kahit ineg niyo thread ko at least, I said my piece charot.

ISSUE: MEN's TEAM MASS DECLINE of INVITE

For me, ok lang yun, pero sana magkaroon ng clear release ng invitation and actual decorum for declining the invite. Release ng long list, adjust ng players na hindi kayang umattend - then invite again. I think maganda yung na-set na precedent ng Alas Women in terms of actually putting weight on their concerns and the addition of an actual "social media" release for certain players (ie raised issue with financial support during NT phase, Nitura's Injury, Cayuna's decision to focus on the local league).

I do not agree na kahit healthy ka, di ka puwede mag-decline. Dapat any decline is ok, pero sana may clear communication between management and especially fans. Kasi itong reaction is, in part, colored by the negativity surrounding the players themselves, ON TOP of the lack of communication from both the management to players, and players/management to fans.

I do agree that maybe certain bans should be in place for those who break standard invitations. For the total ban, I think ok lang - basta mag-set sila ng rules and standards. If they decline and decide to do other things, eh di ok PERO dapat formal and with actual decorum. If none, dun sila mag-raise ng red flag - like some had pointed out, the lack of certain coaching staff.

Kasi, I cannot pass judgment agad sa NU boys if wala silang actual reason for decline. Walang actual communication. Nagpaparamdam din sila before na same sila ng treatment with ALAS Women in terms of budget, etc, and I could see how that would color their experience negatively in joining this cycle, but unlike the Women's team declinees - wala talaga silang babagsakan. Dami din kasing nangyari last year.

Ang maganda lang is lahat ng binalik is newbies na untested - so ang daming nakitang possible options. Unlike sa ALAS women, na walk down memory lane with Liao spokeperson pa.

ANG GULO NG NT CYCLE na to. And if anything, I wish we did not give rush judgments if di pa set yung ating standards.

Cambodia opened its 6th SEA V Cup – Leg 1 campaign with a hard-fought victory, defeating host Alas Pilipinas in a thrilling five-set battle: 25-23, 28-30, 25-20, 22-25, 15-8.

Wala palang nag-post:

>JUST IN: Cambodia opened its 6th SEA V Cup – Leg 1 campaign with a hard-fought victory, defeating host Alas Pilipinas in a thrilling five-set battle: 25-23, 28-30, 25-20, 22-25, 15-8.

The victory also marks Cambodia's first-ever win in SEA V Cup history.

Meanwhile, Alas Pilipinas must defeat Indonesia in its next match to keep its semifinal hopes alive. (C/O of Volleytrails).

Daming error (almost 8+ per set), walang makade-defend sa OHs, and sabog-sabog yung laruan ng teams.

Medyo seesaw sina Garcia at Ramirez. Sayang, wala masyadong kapalitan. Any any lang sila Lirick at Sali. Consistent performer si Josh sa defensive side.
