Indonesia marches into the quarterfinals!

Indonesia completed its revenge against Alas Pilipinas, defeating the Philippines in straight sets (25-22, 25-13, 28-26) to secure a place in the AVC Girls' U18 Championship quarterfinals.

With the victory, Indonesia finishes as the second seed in Pool C and will face Thailand, for a spot in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, Alas Pilipinas missed out on the quarterfinals and will compete in the classification matches.

Personal commentary about the current ALAS vs previous iterations of the team and what should be learned from this team.

1. The success of ALAS 2024-2025 is combining power and height sa PINS with key defensive roles. There are clear sore thumbs (ie Sisi, Jema, and Bella), but they are defensive juggernauts that can at least compensate sa OTB and Serves. Height should be at least 175 cm and above to be competitive sa INTL level. This is why Nitura and Gandler can still compete at this level compared to the ALAS 2026 OH Pool.
2. None of this group's OH made a dent . Small at lahat ticking time bomb sa reception.
   1. Specialized players like Valdez and Tubino should not be part of the team. Daming errors and nagiging burden pa yung reception nila.
   2. Both Molina and Galang are good defensively but have low EFF%. They can be retained if they can play a "defensive" role.
   3. Small players are also suspect at OTB. Andaming off the block kay Gonzaga (170cm) and her offense are affected by the block. Anlaking baba ng level niya.
   4. Sayang na walang youth player on this role. Alam naman natin yung issue before and iyun pa din yung issue ng mga players na to.
3. SA Mga ALAS newbies, YTANG shines bright. Concerning lang ang block niya.
4. ALAS 25 retainees, Gagate did ok pero daming sabaw moments defensively. Hindi pa siya stalwart-level for the team. Solomon did awful. Andaming error, and di kayang mag-step-up once fincousan ng block. Best talaga siya as 2nd or third option - which is not great for a purely offensive OPP. Sayang di sila kumuha ng other OPP "options"
5. If di na babalik si Palomata, I think may space for Gagate as that Block Capping MB pero sobrang in or out laruan niya sa gitna.
6. As expected, hindi quality ang bigayan ni Neggie kahit anong level ng reception. Daming freeballs due to her bad sets. I do not think she should be further called for the NT. Height is also a concern for this role.
7. Personally, Eroa did fine. Still below Dawn and definitely way lower than Jazareno.
8. RECEPTION makes the dreamwork for ALAS girlies. If di natin ma-maintain, di rin tayo makaka-keep up sa top Asian teams.
9. Sa team na to: Ytang, Solomon ireretain ko sa First Team. Gagate is ok sa pool.
10. Succession Rights: Dapat meron tayong conclusive plan for this. Every four years, madalas nag-iintroduce and nagpapaikot ng players.

How can ALAS Girl win over the defensive core of TAI NT? What first six would you go for?

ALAS loses in straight set vs KOR (25-16,25-18,25-22). Sayang yung Lead sa Third set

First Set: TOTS-MOLINA-NEGGIE-GAGATE-YTANG-SOLOMON.

KOR made easy work of the PHI in set one with 25-16 scoreline. Relatively competitive firs six nila with Sohwi playing.

Buti nag-adjust na si Shaq at yung defensive six ang kinuha niya. Sadly, target sa recieve si TOTS and EROA, and they are failing so badly. Andaming errors dito sa last frame ng laro, and almost exclusively between the two yung reception. Solid so far ang MBS + Molina. Ang ganda ng adjustment ni Molina sa shanks and OOS plays.

SET 2: Tots out for Valdez.

Another quick work KPR vs PHI in set one with 25-18 scoreline. Mostly tied until napalikod si Aly and nagOTB galore ang KOR vs Gonzaga. Di na nila nabalik ang momentum after consecutive reception errors.

Good reception so far Valdez, pero let's see if she can keep up. Siya na ang bagong target. The digging is good, but the setting needs work. Puro tapon so far. Gonzaga in after two straight blocks kay Solomon. Ngayon ang target na is si Molina with Valdez letting go of reception in some rotation. Nagiging issue yung smaller blocker natin. Daming OTB na ginagawa ng KOR. Sobrang dami errors ni Eroa for defense.

Kala mo yun, sa lahat ng target sa Receive si Molina lang ang nilubayan nila lol. Hirap na hirap din si Gonzaga at Valdez, sunod sunod na reception error. Its time for Ara Galang.

SET 3: Molina OUT for Galang.

Season 75 vibes char. I wonder about the game plan of the KOR sa service with the most stable defender out.

AYUN, great long rally at 4-2 to 4-3. Daming long rallies. Valdez is responding with reception pressure ng KOR. Dumi ng OOS 2nd ball ni Solomon. Sayang yung momentum, Grabe digging ni ARAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

As usual nawala din yung 3 points with micomm and reception errors. It's over lol. Sayang three straight messy errors and KOR never looked back.
