Coloured roofs on a metro station in Bangalore, India

I recall reading someone stating that they liked that the Blue line in Lagos, Nigeria was using blue coloured trainsets, as that was the kind of stuff they did in Cities Skylines 😄

So here for your viewing pleasure is an overhead view of Jayadeva metro station in Bangalore, which is a junction station between the Yellow and Pink lines. And as you can see, the station roof is accordingly coloured.

India’s Vande Bharat freight train just clocked 145 km/h in its first trial

The railway intends to utilise these fast freight EMUs for parcel delivery, refrigerated goods, and other similar items that require fast delivery. It would also allow better use of the freight corridors that have been built to allow higher speeds for freight trains.

Kolkata Metro girder work atop Chingrighata crossing completed after two years

A prime example of idiotic bureaucracy in action. The metro authorities had asked for a small number of traffic blocks to bridge a 62 m gap in the viaduct. How small you ask? When permission was finally granted, the work took all of two weekends to finish. However, the previous state government stalled things for two years. The worst part is that there is not even any good ideological or any other argument for stalling it, other than wanting to "stick it to the man". Completing the viaduct would bridge a vital gap in the metro network and assist hundreds of daily commuters. Yet another reason why I sometimes think a well run dictatorship like Singapore is better than democracy.

Concept art released for the trains of the upcoming Indian HSR railway

This comes from an image that has been installed in the Railway Ministry building, so it is not certain if this will be the final look. That said, the paint scheme bears a resemblance to the existing Vande Bharat trainset, so it's possible this may end up becoming the actual final look.
