Teaching in Olympia-need housing

My friend is going to start teaching high school in Olympia in 2 weeks, and needs to find a cat-friendly place to live.

Can you recommend neighborhoods or towns that are relatively affordable and/or the best places to search for housing, probably to rent for now? Where will she find reliable apartments or houses for rent? Any help would be appreciated!

Teenager needs a job

I have a special-needs 18 year old who wants a job!

She just finished a 6-week assignment with Hyvee through a school program, and she came home every day full of energy and excitement and stories. And to top it all off she is learning how to save and spend with her paycheck.

Hyvee doesn’t currently have openings she qualifies for, but I know she wants to keep working.

I’m looking for recommendations for places she can walk in to and connect with a human being and talk about why she wants to work. Filling out applications online is SO disheartening for her, and I don’t want her to give up.

Please comment any nearby (she can drive 20-30 minutes each way) places where a personal connection might help her get a job. She’s a good kid who likes regular income and structure in her days & weeks.

TIA!!
