Hi all,

First time leasing a car here and I've done it through my business - I'm wondering what to do about insurance.

I've gone and tried to get an Aviva Signature Business insurance quote and its astronomical! and then tried googling business car insurance comparison and did the quote which came back really reasonable but they never asked for my business information.

I've read a couple of conflicting comments online that I need to get a car insurance policy in the name of the business or I can get a normal insurance policy but be named the named driver as long as I have business use on it and don't have any no claims bonus on it (as that is on my other policy, which I'm keeping on another car) and also ensure its showing the "business lessor" as the registered keeper and owner.

I'm a little bit confused and don't want to be caught out on delivery day or even any day should I need the insurance and its not properly taken out.

Anyone done this before?

I bought my 13 7040 way back when they were on pre-order and have loved it ever since. I had no plans to upgrade but I opened my laptop last night and I think the recent heatwave we’re experiencing in the UK has killed the screen. I’ll try to reseat the cable to see if it makes a difference, but I think it’s dead.

So! An opportunity to buy a new screen and some other bits too - I’m just not sure on what bits fit and what doesn’t.

If I were to buy the pro screen - do I need to change the top cover or is the old 13 cover still compatible and what’s the difference between the gen 2 input cover and the new pro cover?

Also I believe the AI300 cooler fits the 7040 and runs it a bit cooler - is this worth doing if I’m doing a job lot of upgrades whilst I’m doing an order?
