New guitar idea: Putting a Gears of War disc between your strings makes a surprisingly good drone generator
I did this during my first live set on a whim without testing it and I gotta say it was the dumbest and best idea I’ve had. Give it a shot next time you play and see what kind of sounds you can make.

Gears of War 4 drone
While playing my track “1222” for my live album Qxpel, I wedged an old Gears of War Xbox one disc between the strings of my guitar. It turned the instrument into this huge metallic drone machine, constant sympathetic ringing, weird overtones, and a scraping resonance whenever I moved the neck.
Probably the dumbest prepared-guitar technique I’ve ever tried, but it ended up becoming one of my favorite sounds from the set.
