Library weirdness involving manga

did you know that only people between the ages of 13 and 17 are allowed to read manga if you go by the metropolitan library system?

walked to the capitol hill library and when i was going to find me some volumes of manga to read i found a sign

"We are fully willing to accommodate children and adults in the rest of the Library, but the teen section is a safe space for teens. no children and no adults are allowed in the teen section. only teens between the ages of 13 and 17"

when i brought it up to the front desk they said that that means you can access the YA books and manga but you can't sit down in the chairs..

that's not what the sign said as of today. they might have changed it after i left. just wanted to warn fellow anime and manga fans that the library thinks you shouldn't be allowed to read dragonball, or attack on titan

i told them.. and i even contacted the admin phone number about it.. that books should not be locked in a "safe space" that the computers the teens use and the seating being sectioned off is fine but no books should be cut off from anyone in a library for any reason. and the manga should have it's own section agnostic to age ranges
