basic shed adivce

Hi all,

I have the opportunity to build a small shed/workshop (cost around 20k USD). Below you have the floor plan + floor plan with some back of the napkin space plan.

The internal footprint is about 4.8m (16ft) x 5.8m (19ft), but the actuall usable area is about 19m2 (200sqm). There is small bathroom under the stair and the stair leads to a terrace, those were not included in the usable area.

I would have loved to do some basic woodworking/metal welding or sand blasting, but I do not think there is enough space.

Also, i struggle to see where I can store materials.

When it comes to painting/finishing, I intend to do it in the garden and have a portable spray booth.

I need your advice, is this feasable to do hobbiest/home repairs work in this space?

What would you do different?

Selfhosted Media Transcoder?

Hi all,

I am currently looking for a selfhosted transcoder for my media files (images, videos, audio).

I have a N5 Pro NAS with Truenas and a RTX 2060Ti GPU attached using Oculink.

I usually try to get the best media content that I can find, but considering that storage space is a premium nowadays and it is not going to get cheaper any time soon, I am looking for a selfhosted transcoder that I can rely on when I need to convert a 4k video from 40GB down to 10GB for example.

Any suggestions?

Mouse Choice??? MX4 vs G502X+

Hi all,

TLDR see title. What is your experience with any of those?

I have been using the MX 2S for the past 8 years, I have decided to get an upgreade because the "rubber" is worn out and also the thumb button drives me crazy because it keeps blocking the mouse movement when it gets stuck.

I am not sure which would be the best choice as my next mouse the new MX4 or G502X+.

I am mainly using the mouse as daily drive for work, but I also play games.

I do not need the lowest latency or highest DPI as I am a casual gamer, not competitive one, so those specs are not what would drive my decision.

I am looking for a mouse that would have good ergonmics, battery life and the mouse buttons are clicky (I have see mouses where they clicks are silent which is odd for me).

I am cosidering trasitioning from a productivity mouse to a gaming mouse because I am hoping that the materials and egonomics would be better and they will not age so bad as my MX2S.
