Any Tricare patients?

My PC doctor gave me a referral for bariatric surgery and sent me to the nutritionist at the naval hospital near us and told me to see them for 3 months to “prove no weight loss for insurance” for sleeve surgery, but when I went to the nutritionist they said they don’t do that type of monitoring for bariatric stuff.

If you are a tricare patient, how did you prove that previous weight loss attempts had not worked? I obviously have many weight loss failures but none of them are specifically recorded with a physician. I have not been to my initial bariatric referral appointment out in town so maybe they’ll give me more info there but I’d like to get the ball rolling now if I have to maintain my weight for 3 months to show I haven’t lost.
