melo loves tearing up slippers, he went straight to my sister’s slippers 🤣
macbook air m5
the macbook air m5 is amazing. i upgraded from my 2020 intel macbook air, and while i know these laptops aren’t really designed for gaming since i originally bought both of them for school, i do play the sims 4 on them. it runs so smoothly, looks clear, and is incredibly fast.
i’m writing this specifically from the perspective of someone who plays sims, in case you’re curious about how it handles the game. if you’re thinking about getting one, go for it! it’s a wonderful laptop and has been a great upgrade.
running errands
poor melo ran so many errands with us today. i didn’t want to leave his little anxious self at home for hours, so he came along for the ride. by the end of the day, he was completely worn out.
having trouble giving my 3-year-old toy poodle medicine
i have a 3-year-old toy poodle who is extremely difficult to give medicine to. he is not food-motivated at all, he doesn’t care about treats like cheese, peanut butter, meat, or other foods people usually recommend hiding medicine in. the only time he’ll take medication is if he is absolutely starving and will eat anything that’s given to him. otherwise, he can go days without eating. we have spent a lot of money on antibiotics, steroids, appetite stimulants, and other medications, but a lot of it ends up going to waste because we struggle so much to get him to actually take it. the confusing part is that he has no problem taking medicine from other people. at the vet, they can lift his mouth, give him the medication, and he doesn’t growl, bite, or fight them. but when my mom or i try, he growls and bites. i don’t know if it’s our approach. we’re gentle, we don’t yell, and we try to stay calm and relax him, but we also don’t want to keep getting bitten every time we have to medicate him. has anyone experienced this before? is there something we could be doing differently to make medicine time easier for him and less stressful for everyone? any advice would be appreciated.
