After flying the Odessa career some more, I’ve struggled to find the best play style for the IAR80. It isn’t quite maneuverable enough to rely on turn fighting and its firepower (only 6 rifle caliber machine guns with limited ammo) is abysmal for BNZ. Its climb rate is okay, but the power to weight ratio of the I-16 and I-153 make them able to punish any dogfighting mistakes from the IAR-80.

I know in real life that it was dated and not some uber plane, so I understand if it “is what it is” but im still pretty new to flight sims and was wondering if anyone else had a particular play style they like with it.

That aside, the plane model and cockpit are gorgeous and a joy to fly around in!
