Hummingbirds💚

These are some photos of hummingbirds over the years I’ve fed. Black Chinned Hummingbird/Ruby Throated Hummingbirds/Broadtail Hummingbirds.
I have a special nectar recipe I make year-round. I take a small pot with one cup of water, bring that to a boil all the way to high, let the nectar boil for about 25 seconds, take it off and take your 1/4 cup of sugar. Pour it in there and mix it well till clear. Put your feeder out and within a couple of days you’ll have everyone coming to you. I make mine fresh every morning at 5:00 AM during spring/summertime here in CO🗻

Ever seen a California scrub Jay???

The California Scrub Jay (Aphelocoma californica) is a bright blue, highly intelligent songbird native to the brushlands and oak woodlands of western North America. the California Scrub Jay is not the same bird as a Blue Jay, they belong to different scientific genera. The California Scrub-Jay is Aphelocoma californica, while the true Blue Jay is Cyanocitta cristata. The California Scrub-Jay lacks a prominent head crest, has a grayish-brown back patch, and a white eyebrow. The true Blue Jay features a prominent, showy head crest and bold black-and-white face and wing markings, The California Scrub-Jay lives along the western coast of North America (from Washington down to Mexico). The true Blue Jay lives primarily east of the Rocky Mountains

Hello, I’m new and I’m very excited to be here!

I originally posted my Bird station on the Denver subReddit, but it got removed, so I’m happy I found the correct one. I’m very excited to share my things and all of my wildlife birds that come around. This is my 9 foot bird feeding pole with four different varieties of food. I get monthly, cracked shelled peanuts/whole shell peanuts/mixture of cranberries – sunflower – walnuts – pecans/sunflower hearts.
