I'm now the guardian of my Dad's Vitus 979.
This bike has been sitting inside my parents' house since 2013; my Dad bought it in the early 90s off a racer who suffered a career-ending injury and sold it cheaply. It's Shimano 600, components put it around 88 or 89. In 2013 my Dad was scared off riding it due to horror stories about bonded aluminum frames from a bike mechanic friend of his, he bought a Trek Madone instead. I'm trying to do more research about the bike; I've had a couple other frames around this age but the bonded aluminum horror stories are putting me off a bit too.
