Bought it in a yard sale for $50. Thought it would be a fun build. Not quite a modern bmx, but can anyone on here help me figure out exactly what model schwinn this is? And maybe what year? Im very curious. Looks like a Sting-Ray, not sure what year… Some ideas on the build would also be great. Thanks.
Just found this in the attic of a house me and my partner just inherited. Pretty stoked to see if I can get this thing as close to original as possible.
I don’t know all that much with Centurions and all I know of this bike is that it’s a Le Mans and the badge on the front says Super Sport and that it’s from 1977. The seat isn’t original too. But just trying to figure out what I have got. Any help much appreciated. It’s got Suntour tensioners and Weinmann brakes.
Don’t know too much about bikes but just picked up this 90s GT Edge Aero. I think it’s pretty sweet if anyone knows anything about it or fun facts lmk! Can’t find much info on it.
I recently picked up this ‘Peugot Performance 300’. I’ve heard, and also found out by Googling, that it’s a frame made from a ‘special’ type of steel. Is that true?
Unfortunately, I’ve noticed lots of scratches and signs of rust…
I’m almost certain that the rear derailleur (RSX 100) is original, as are the brakes. The bike has a 3x8 drivetrain and I assume the crankset is original too.
However, I know that neither the wheels nor the shifters are original. The front derailleur (DEORE) is certainly not original either.
I’ve got a pair of Shimano 3x8 shifters, which will certainly work with the derailleurs.
My question is this:
As the bike is certainly no longer in its original condition, I’m not sure whether I’d rather just clean it and put it back together, or whether I’d prefer to repaint the frame…
The ‘Peugeot’ is still very recognisable!
From a distance, I think the bike has a lot of charm; up close, you can really see all the imperfections and rust spots.
Any ideas, advice…
What would you do?
I scored this beast in the local classifieds for 80.-
I pick it up on Thursday so I haven’t seen the serial number yet, but I think it’s a 1987 model.
Expecting to have to put a bit of elbow grease into it but it should come up nicely.
Ive owned a slew of vintage road bikes over the years but theyve all been found through garage sales, thrift stores, etc. Ive yet to find a bike with a campagnolo drive train, components, etc. Currently im looking at older Bianchis on the 3 major online local marketplaces and Im noticing many people dont post components. Are there some tells for Campy parts just going off photos? Thanks!
Looking for first road bike. Don't know much besides description. Asking $150 I don't care so much about price as the 3+ hour drive to pick it up.
- 9 Shimano 105 speed components;
- carbon fiber seatpost and fork;
- 9 speed Easton Vista SL wheelset;
- Fizik Arione saddle
Good deal and good bike?
Edit: Currentpy have a flatbar Ozark trail g1 explorer. Looking to upgrade to something more roadworthy with drop bars.
Looking for a bike to do a 5000km tour. For sale for 700 usd. This or something modern?
Hi everyone!
I'm thinking about buying this bike as the base for an xbiking project. After doing some research I think it might be a Marin Eldridge Grade, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know if that's correct? If not, what model do you think it is?
I'd also appreciate your opinion on the frame size, what do you think it is? I'm 189 cm (6'2") tall with an 86 cm (33.9") inseam. Wondering if it would fit me well.
Finally, do you think it's a good candidate for an xbiking build?
Thanks in advance!
Not happy with the tire color, I should have dropped an extra 30 on some coffee color Schwalbes.
I absolutely adore this bike however I’m interested in trying to change the current bars out for drop bars. Wondering if I would need new brakes? What tools might I need? Which bars should I look for so as to get a good fit? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Found this Schwinn Traveler on the side of the road with a "free" sign zip-tied to it. First time completely tearing down and rebuilding a bicycle and all went relatively smooth. Serviced all bearings and components, and threw on some new white tires, seat, and tape. Swapped on some MKS Quill pedals from my 1981 Puch Luzern. Absolutely huge frame that barely fits me at 6', but super smooth and soft over bumps.
Hard to find history on this bike. Bought it at value village, got it fixed up and been using it for the past 4 years.
I am looking to sell it to give my self more room.
How much do you think i can sell it for in its condition?

Hi. I'm hoping that someone here could tell me what this frame was when I left the shop.
It's an A-pro with a serial number on the bottom bracket that reads A2100234.
All other details are best seen in the pics.
Cheers!
