Notice any graffiti in the parks?

Hey all,

Andrew here.

If you've noticed any graffiti in the parks, would you mind taking a picture and letting me know?

I am going to send a proposal to the city to clean and reset them all. Its been a few years since I did it last. The city staff do their best, but they don't have the same tools at their disposal. I think they've been painting over most, which can work for short term, but isn't a good long term option and usually looks unsightly.

I've audited the following parks so far:

  • Hillcrest
  • Walter Henry
  • Clayt French
  • Tudhope
  • Homewood

So if you're at a park this weekend and happen to notice some graffiti please let me know. Going to continue the park tour next week. My kids have been loving it so far lol.

And hopefully it'll get approved and we can get these tags out of sight and out of mind.

Here is a link to the Google Photos album I have of all the tags Ive spotted so far (you'll have to reassemble the link, not sure I can post it)

Hope you have a great rest of your day

We cleaned the salt and debris up from the Rec Centre yesterday. Just wanted to share as I'm grateful I get to work locally.

Hey all,

Just wanted to post some pics of cleaning up the Rec Centre yesterday. We did a hot pressure wash to get rid of all the salt build up from the entrance, and removed any chewing gum litter and debris. Leftover salt will destroy anything it's on, so it is important to make sure it's all removed each spring. You don't need a lot of pressure, just plenty of heat and flow and the salt will dissolve.

It was a nice to get to do a local job, at a building which I visit regularly, getting to enjoy the fruits of my own labour. I do notice when buildings are dirty unfortunately.

I brought my powerwashing surface head robots out. A 'surface head' is an enclosure with a bar with a couple nozzles on it that spins really quickly and allows you to clean large flat areas evenly. Its like mowing the sidewalk.

I have 2 surface head robots. One is fully autonomous, so drives itself, which I was planning on using, but unfortunately I couldn't get my phone to connect to it. I was going to make a little video of me napping in the chair while its working away. Luckily have the other which is like the coolest RC car, you just drive it to clean the surface. I let my newest employee drive it and have some fun, after of course, doing some manually first.

But yeah, was just super grateful to get to do a job 10 minutes away and feel like I was helping to keep things clean.

Let me know how it's looking if you're stopping by!

Cheers,
Andrew
