PSA to People Coming for Vacation, Hurricane Isaias Edition
We may not have gotten the worst of it, but we still got torn up. Our community just survived a natural disaster and a lot of our power is still out. A lot of our restaurants lost a ton of food and won’t have full menus. A lot of grocery stores stocks will be limited.
Y’all are coming here asking about beachside picnics and vacation rentals

I don’t hate tourists. I get it, we live in a beautiful place and we are so lucky, but damn. It’s two days after the hurricane. The locals need the resources here.
Go somewhere else and come back later.
Edit: I would like to add that no one has posted and asked “are you guys ok?”. Several times it has been, “can we come on our vacation?”. It’s rude and inconsiderate.

People. After some nice conversations with some nice people, just want to say to those of you coming down for vacation:
I genuinely hope you have a great time. The weather is fantastic right now. I hope the power is on, your AC nice and crispy. May your bushwhacker never melt. Lastly, tip well. We need it.
