Wallpaper Slides and Pattern Archive

My grandfather worked at Birge Wallpaper in Buffalo, NY (USA) from approximately 1950 to the late 1970's as the Director of Design and later the Vice President of design. I believe the Buffalo NY office was shut down in 1976.

Since his passing we have been storing this wooden cabinet of photographic slides that appears to be wallpaper patterns. There appears to be around 1500 slides. See photos.

There is a business card in the box for C. Oscar Hesse. When doing google searches for him I have found some patents under that name for wallpaper patterns in conjunction with Birge Wallpaper: https://patents.google.com/patent/USD191288S/en

There is nothing in the archive to indicate that these patterns have anything to do with Mr. Hesse and it's just as likely that my Grandfather tossed the card in the box to save it, but it helps to prove the Birge Wallpaper connection. My parents recall the name Hesse being mentioned over the years by my Grandfather.

What might this archive of wallpaper patterns be worth? I can imagine it has having a lot of artistic value for set designers, pattern designs, fabric designers and other artistic interests.

Is there is an appropriate library or historical archive for these types of materials? In a perfect world I would love to create high resolution scans and post them as a free digital archive, but realistically don't see myself having the time to do that.

Any information would be fantastic.

Claude Monet Water Lilies, unusual size?

I have this framed Claude Monet's Water Lilies that I'm hoping to sell, but have no idea how to price it. My parents had it for a long time, and even with reverse image searching I can't find many listings for the same one (or even a similar size/ shape). All I've found is this one listing from a Norwegian site, which isn't much to go on.

It measures approx 96.5cm by 46.5cm. The frame is a little damaged so obviously the price goes down for that. I know it's not going to be super valuable or anything, but I'd appreciate having at least a ballpark figure. TIA!

ETA: obviously I know it's not an original, I really didn't think that needed stating! As I said, I knew it wasn't going to be super valuable, I just wasn't sure of the going rate for one like this since I couldn't find other listings for reference.

Large ghostbusters arcade game marquee light cover

This is a ~3.5ft "No Ghost" Ghostbusters logo, 3d plastic molded. It's intended to go over top an LED and attract people to come check out the game.

It's from an I.C.E. x Dave & Busters arcade game from 2016, and apparently only about ~175 of these games were made. There were 2 logos on each game so about 350 of these exist.

It has mounting holes all around the back but would require a custom mount to hang it, and fixture/ LED strip or something to illuminate it.

You can buy a "No-Ghost" light up logo sign online, but they're all flattened/ not a 3D design, and not as big.

Any ideas of what this is worth as a collectors item / man-cave / home arcade decoration? I can't find any other examples of this thing being bought or sold online

Do these old figurines have any value?

Hi, I got a bunch of old figurines from my grandparents who both have recently passed away. I was wondering if anyone out there has any info or know of a current value.

Vintage bottle of Silver Nitrate powder 3/4 full

My dad seems to think this is valuable? It's been in his drawer since the '70s? Is it still good? Is it worth anything? If so, who would buy it?

Have 32 Boxes, Can't Find Sources

They're slotted popsicle sticks meant for building and play. Not sure where we got them from, I just want to know more about them. Any information, the origin, the year it was made, or history.

Cigar set

Cigar set, still with original tag, from 1991.
Purchased in a store, Denmark.
It has never been used, and there is still a Cuban cigar in the case.
The set has been stored a bit too long in a basement, so there is some tarnish and a few scratches (see photos) on the round end. There is also a small green stain on the leather case. Otherwise, it appears to be in perfect condition.
What can I sell it for?

Large carved wood fu dogs

So I found these large heavy fu dogs. They are about 3 feet tall and carved from a single peice of wood.

The wood, unfortunately has a few "hairline" splits in each. The grain and craftsmanship seems to be quality.

Are these just these common buffet decor, or can anyone provide any insight?

Inherited a giant Jack Daniels commercial display bottle, only found one other listing on the internet saying it sold for $400, but I'm not sure what it could really be worth

My dad committed suicide December of 2019 and I've been holding onto this ever since. I'm not a big fan of alcohol, but since it was sentimental I've kept it around. I remember him telling me that a liquor store he frequented and made friends at gave it to him as a gift. I have no real use for this and I recently had a baby, so funds are scarce. Can y'all tell me how much you think this could be worth?

- It's a little over 3ft tall

- Made of resin or plastic, with maybe some wood as well

- It's dusty and has a couple small scuffs, but otherwise is in great condition

Looking to see if anyone has a firm evaluation on this item. From what I can tell, it’s a vintage tin beer sign from the 30s.

I’ve had offers of 100 150 and 200 but looking to see if it’s worth more before I sell

I was gifted these Garbage Pail Kid prints by a fellow Topps employee in the late 90s. I was told that they are for artist reference, but I don’t know anything else about them.

Vintage 1930s-40s large metal Miller advert - red "Can in Hand"

Hi all, I am looking for some info on these. I have 2 (yes, two) of these large old metal Miller signs, bought at an estate sale in Wisconsin around 10 years ago. Dimensions are roughly 69.5" x 34" x 1" with original wood backing (Johnny Cash LP for scale)

Both signs are the same design, with the one in the photos being in slightly better shape than the other.

The marking on the bottom left is "8201" and the bottom right is "MCA 2581 MADE IN U.S.A."

I was able to find some similar signs listed by Miller and Miller auctions (Can in Hand and Bottle in Hand) but all have a light blue background.

Does anyone have any information on when they were produced and perhaps current value?

Thanks in advance!

My great Uncle worked in the clubhouse for the Red Sox in the 40-60s, before he passed he gave me this ball signed by the 1960s Sox team including Ted Williams in his last year.

I'm seeing just Ted Williams Autos selling for around $3-400 but curious if the whole team adds or possibly takes away value. I don't have any proof of authenticity given the nature of the gift but if it's worth it I could get it graded

Mold taken in 80s from original terra-cotta maquette of the Statue of Liberty created by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi

This is not a reproduction of the Statue of Liberty itself. It is an actual mold taken in the 1980s from the original terra-cotta maquette (small-scale model) created by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi before the full-size Statue of Liberty was built.
From what I’ve been told, the original terra-cotta model was owned by the Statue of Liberty organization, and this mold was made for research/documentation purposes by my dad when he was building a 2/3rd scale statue of the hand and touch that is still standing in the Skirball museum in Los Angeles. It was not for commercial production. It was never intended to be sold as a souvenir or mass-produced.
The mold captures the details of the original artist’s model and has a direct connection to the original sculpture rather than the finished monument.

I also have a statue that was cast in it.

The plaster casing has degraded and was removed. I saved this mold itself from the garbage.

It’s not in the best shape but other than a few small cracks and treatable mold it’s not that bad.

Any ideas who would be interested in this piece of history or what it could be worth?

Thanks for any insight

Uncut trading card sheet - 1989 & 1990 Marvel Todd McFarlane Trading Card Set I & II

Hi folks. Trying to gauge value and scarcity. This belongs to a friend, whose had it in his basement for around 35 years. He said his uncle gave it to him when he was a kid. His uncle got it from the deli he worked at.

I've seen 1 uncut sheet for the Trading Card Set II, but never both together. I've checked all the usual sites as well as Worthpoint.
