Just finished the movie for the first time, loved it! Felt a bit like a grittier Catch Me If You Can.
But, the song at the end - everybody wants to rile the world - it took me out of it so much!
Is there a reason or a theory as to why they used such a popular song from the 80s at the end of a movie set in the 50s?
Where was Lorelai???
So Lorelai’s shoe breaks and she leaves Rory on the dance floor with Dean.
After this, we pan away from Rory and focus on Lorelai who moves to the side of the dance floor to talk to Luke, then Sookie, then Luke again. All while sitting on the sidelines and you can see Miss Patty in the background for a number of shots.
Lorelai does NOT leave the hall
Then we pan back to Rory and the break up scene, Rory leaves the dance floor, Kirk wins and Lorelai returns asking where Rory is.
But where was Lorelai??? Is there a deleted scene? A super quick reference? From what we see, she never leaves the hall! She should have witnessed the whole break up from where we last saw her
