why do people look down on wattpad books?

so i came across a post a few weeks ago that stuck inside my mind complaining as to why the filipino books available on bookstores are only wattpad books.

i mean i get it in a way considering napakadaming indie authors in this country na deserve ma recognize. pero punong puno na ako sa mga taong nag lolook down sa wattpad books as if they are any less.

People should read more

I see an alarming trend of wattpad readers lately where they focus more on criticizing the authors’ personal lives rather than their books (with exception sa mga things na need I call out because I believe calling out is important as well).

This is worrisome because if you are a reader, your mind should be much more opened and should be more empathetic.

I’m all for criticizing books because it’s important to provide feedback to writers and give ideas to future readers. That’s why book reviews are very important!

But I draw the line kung personalan na. Like sa looks? Sa body type? It’s horrible.

In short, they lost the plot and should read more instead of lurking on socmed. It’s erasing every valuable thing they had learned while reading.
