I signed a lease without being able to see the car… now I can’t get a straight answer from the dealer.
My lease is done, just made my last payment.
I went in to get a new lease & turn in my vehicle on a Saturday. (6/20/26)
I went into a dealership & left after we didn’t come to an agreement. 15 minutes after driving off the sales manger called me & said they can give me the deal I was looking for. I agreed to a vehicle they had on the website, the salesman & manager said the car had just arrived & was not “PDI”. Basically they couldn’t bring it from the storage lot that was off site. I wasn’t able to see the car or drive it for this reason, but the manager said they would deliver it in 2 days. I never got a copy of the agreement I signed with the finance guy, they were supposed to email it but I never got one.
After waiting all day I reached out to the dealer, I was told it was being washed & would be on the road in a few. An hour later the sales manager called saying the car was not in their inventory yet & was expected to be delivered on 7/15/26. I was definitely upset but he assured me they could get me another car that was scheduled to get delivered that Friday.
Friday came & he tried to up-sale me $3k. I said no, I wanted the deal I signed for. I asked to get the contract emailed as some kind of reassurance but still nothing. He said they would have another car in the trim I selected on 7/6/26. The manager reached out asking if I had gotten another car yet, leading me to believe they scraped the original deal. I keep getting dragged along with hopes to keeping this “great deal”.
I know I should’ve never driven off without physically getting the vehicle. How screwed am I here? Do I have any recourse?
