Is anybody digging The Confuser like I'm digging The Confuser?
Particularly at the moment "Building From The Ruins", which has a great "Night Ride To Trinidad" vibe to it, then goes so far beyond.

I'm blown away by the live recording of Clean Steve on the Live Death promo. I ripped it from a radio station I worked at decades ago so I don't have the sleeve credits; does anyone know if that's Robyn playing the piano on that track? It sounds like an animal that's trapped inside a cage.
The post from earlier had me put on The Else for my drawing time and this is what resulted. Already submitted to the Tumblr, but I thought I'd share it here too.
I set a notification for myself, pretty certain I couldn't afford any that came up. I was right, $90 is too rich for my blood. But if it's not the case for you, here you go:

Alternately, if anyone wanrs to buy it for me, that's okay too 😜
Does anyone have sheet music to share? I'm teaching myself to play the piano and would be way more enthusiastic to sit down to it with songs I really like. And, no, I don't expect TMBG to be easy to play.
I'm currently working through a sheet of "Lie Still Little Bottle" that one of those modern day troubadors put together and so kindly shared here some months ago (and I think I know who you are). I'm just wondering if there's more out there.
tl;dr: I make unlikely comparisons between They Might Be Giants and Indigo Girls
I may get flak for this but bear with me. In high school in the 90s I spent a lot of time on long car trips with a friend who liked Indigo Girls as much as I like TMBG. We would take turns with the tape deck, which made for some really jarring transitions. But it got me cataloging the commonalities.
They both started as duos, both sets were childhood friends. Two singers, two songwriters in each band. They both moved into full-band setups at around the same time.
Beyond that I was struck then by how parallel their albums were; they released albums at roughly the same time throughout the 80s and 90s, and I would argue that the albums followed a similar development (Swamp Ophelia being Indigo Girls John Henry for example). I haven't kept up in the 21st century except to notice that Indigo Girls have continued making albums together, and they're still touring. How many musical partnerships last this long?
My high school friend, when I broached the subject all those years ago was quick to point out that no one has seen Indigo Girls and They Might Be Giants in the same place together. I'd imagine that still holds true
Nah, just me horsin' around with my records while I should be doing something else.
AI will never glue my poster.
