Some further similarities I couldn't touch on because I ran out of room and am bad at formatting:
-Queen and Jevil both have a penchant for amusement park rides
-Tenna and Spamton are both very Mettaton-coded, being charismatic showmen who string the protagonist along for their own personal gain
-The Knight and the Titan both got them horns
-Gerson and Flowery both exist outside the Lightner/Darkner binary, and are both contained in glass domes.
I also wanted to kinda explain the predictions I made for Chapter 6 and 7's bosses:
-Chapter 6 seems like it's going to be very Holiday-focused, with Noelle apparently joining the hero crew in an official capacity, and Rudy's situation taking a bad turn. Who better to provide the main source of conflict than Mayor "I've been built up as a major antagonist since Ch. 1" Holiday? Noelle is there because I think it'd be a cool callback to the Queen fight where she has Berdly under her control and we do love our dramatic parallels, right Toby?
-Seam is the secret boss of Chapter 6. Trust. We've been duking it out with all these mega-tough badasses and handing over the trophies to this mysterious wizard who used to keep up with Freakin' Jevil in their "games". This bored-as-hell-bodying-everyone-in-Castle-Town cat, who thinks we'll find the end result of our little superboss quest "entertaining". They are ABSOLUTELY NOT giving up that Pure Crystal without a FIGHT.
-FRIEND as the DELTARUNE FINAL BOSS was kind of an afterthought initially, but the more I think about it, the more I sort of like the concept. One of the big themes of Deltarune is not becoming consumed by escapism. Screens that burn your retinas a horrible yellowish-pink if stared at too long... a pointed tail to be followed, taking you through link after link, video after video, game after game, until you're lost where the forest grew... until you're a shadow of something you could've been. Fighting the urge to plunge completely into that big, grinning darkness... to give up entirely on this world of reality... that would be our ultimate test. (I might be writing this in a sleep-deprived state)
-I have a feeling that Chapter 7 does not have a secret boss. I feel there is some truth to Seam's words, and that Chapter 5 truly was the last time we had to seek out an overly-challenging opponent, with Seam themself capping off the quest in Chapter 6. Side B, however, is an entirely different matter. An utterly optional route must surely lead to an utterly optional encounter with an utterly optional figure. Someone outside the boundaries of the world. Someone who has been carefully curating this universe over the course of more than two decades, and is now very, very irritated to see what a mess you've made of it... (I am definitely in need of sleep but I am posting this anyway)
I'd love to hear your guesses and theories on what awaits us in the last two chapters! For this discourse is so fleeting... beautiful and totally rad, but fleeting...
Looks like Toby's returning to his ROOTS...
