Is the Steam version of KID really THAT bad?

I'm relatively new to Suda51. The only games of his which I've played as of today are NMH 1 and 2, with me beating the latter literally yesterday. I do however own a decent number of his games besides those, such as the silver case series, sotd and kid. I bought the latter on steam for a really cheap price a few years ago and have only just gotten around to wanting to play it.

That being said, I've heard that the steam version of the game is atrocious, with lots of issues and is essentially unplayable. I'm curious as to whether it really IS that bad. Is there a community mod that helps make it at least somewhat bearable? Or is it just absolutely unsalvagable? I should also note that my laptop has really shitty RAM and struggled to run both the NMH games already (I played their steam versions too. I did hear that these were bad but besides a few crashes here and there as well as aforementioned lag they were mostly fine).

If the steam version of KID is actually that bad, then I can just get the xbox version to play it instead. That is already how I own and plan on playing SotD. I'd just like some input from people who are likely to know more than me before making that decision. Thanks!

Question about Formation Factors

So I was reading up on Ryukishi himself and learned that from 2006 to 2011 he used to write game review articles for the Comptiq magazine. The games he reviewed ranged from Resident Evil and Silent Hill to Borderlands and Black Ops 1. I'm interested in giving some of those reviews a read to see his opinions on some of these games but had no luck finding them. Does anyone here perhaps know a place where they're archived or something similar? Thanks!
