The Silver Case is the single best detective fiction I have read. The end.
I have started replaying this VN years after reading it as a teenager and understanding nothing, and now that I do understand it, I believe that it is truly the peak of detective fiction writing. The horror, the atmosphere, the tragedy, the world building through themes, the characters, it’s all perfect. 0 notes.

Should I continue the silver case ?
Hello there, been playing the silver case for a couple of days (finished spectrum/playing hana) but ive been facing some issues with the game, the story barely progresses and the pacing is very slow, also the reporter chapters are really boring and feel like a a mere redundancy to the transmitter chapters, i really wanna continue it since the game gets super good when it hits but i just can't seem to stay engaged with the way the game is going so far, should i keep pushing ? What do you guys think ?
KTP Romania is just as bad as Transmitter/Patchbay Works
Why go through all this effort to make a romanian-only patch when it would've benefitted the community a lot more to instead do it in English? That plus making so many posts talking bad about the ONLY English patch out there to the point where it gets DFA'd off the internet? Who cares that it was made with AI when you haven't made an alternative for those English speakers? Advertising the Romanian-only patch in plain English only exists to antagonize the English fanbase and hating on the only way for English players to experience it on the PS2 version only looks like bad faith and gatekeeping just for the Romanians.
From what I saw, no AI was used for the English translation as it was directly pulled from the EU DS version. If there are flaws with the guidebook, that's easily solvable by using the PDF of the guide instead of the in-game one. Why did we have to harass this person off the internet? What was the point? All I'm seeing is this Romanian group that showed up out of nowhere only to start drama.
GOD HAND HD
Out of love and passion for God Hand, I want to ask for this community's support: please sign this petition so we can reach 10,000 signatures! This masterpiece absolutely deserves an HD remaster with modern improvements. It's a truly one-of-a-kind game! Its visionary combat system is unmatched; even today, no other game offers the sheer freedom that God Hand did. With over 100 customizable moves, you can build whatever fighting style you want. On top of that, it's a game overflowing with charm and personality—something severely lacking in many modern titles. Thank you all! 🔥🙏
KTP Romania on X: "We unfortunately have to announce that, based on the information we've been given and our own look into the way the patch is, the FSR PS2 english patch by Transmitter/Patchbay Works was most likely made with AI. Thread." / X
Is is true that the FSR translation was made using an LLM? I have never heard of this account before but their evidence is convincing. I stand against calling LLM "A.I." because that's not what they are. They are glorified bots who just tell you things to make you happy. It's no surprise this kind of slop translation would be bad, but I am still disappointed because I am left with no way to play the game that doesn't involve stealing from unpaid, uncredited laborers.
Any Updates On The Actual FSR Translation?
Just to be clear I'm not talking about the recently released translation where they backport the DS translation, I'm referring to the one that was announced around November that it was almost done. It feels like since then there hasn't been any news.
My thoughts on silver case so far
I just finished report 3, and while i thought case 3 was good it just wasn't this "amazing" that everybody was talking about, lots of people saying it's the best chapter of the game. I understand it, and am intrigued to see where they take Sumio's character, but I'm wondering when things truly start to take a turn.
I adore the game's style and the soundtrack is great. But I also feel like the pacing sometimes is way too slow, and even though i love the characters, some dialogues just feel too long winded for me.
I thought the start of placebo was mind numbingly boring, but after report 2 I'm starting to vibe with Tokio's characterization a lot and even though the monotonous gameplay of it is tedious, i admit it really does enhance him.
I sort of like it so far, but would you say case 4 is where the game starts to shine?
Paradise hotel 51 website??
why is it like this i, wanted to read about suda51. but this is also cool
I know Suda 51 dosen’t usually do sequels outside of “No More Heroes”, but Romeo Is A Deadman needs one.
There is just too much potential in a series.
* The bastard system is way too unique to only be used once. Mixing and matching different ones and combining them for a brand new and unique power is an amazing idea. Can you imagine this being expanded on? And quadrupling the amount of Bastards and combinations.
* The setting: A space hopping bounty hunter sounds like it would have equally as much potential. This game already dealt with hopping between different areas and time periods. Imagine this being expanded to more planets. Jungle themed planets, Ice planets, etc.
* Weapons: While they were fun to use, this could also be expanded along with the combat. More combos, More exclusive abilities for weapons, etc.
* The story: I admit… even though I have the platinum for this game, only about a fraction of it made any damn sense. I understand Suda likes wacky stuff, but I do feel like this story has more potential to continue. Especially after the ending (Not the Gundam one, but the one before that)

Romeo is a Deadman Digital Artbook out now!
store.steampowered.comi finished 25th ward
i really loved it, i loved tsuki and osatos friendship, tokio morishimas story and shiroyabu + kuroyanagi
i still have some questions left, but i think this is normal since everyone considers this game to be confusing:
is the ending basically a sign that the past got “killed”, as in the whole cycle with kamui is finished and yuki is not getting used by the government for criminal power or doubles, if not what was the message of the ending
shiroyabu was kamuis son, which im kinda sad i got spoiled about since that ruined the experience but is the joker basically a double of shiroyabu, like the original shiroyabu being the “format” and acting as a mould for his other doubles? basically getting used by the government just like kamui, as in the whole shelter kid thing happened again. and also is he format kamuis son, basically the original kamui or do they mean any other kamui double?
the most confusing thing was “what is kurumizawa”, he was an observer (?) but there are a lot of different explanations for that term so it had me confused. at the end i reached the conclusion that the observers are us, the players since we observe 3 different stories and switch between tsuki, tokio and shiroyabu / uehara.
so does kurumizawa basically observe the whole kamui virus? but then what did he try to achieve?the whole point of the mayor was to make someone with the power to save the life and to kill to life meet, so basically tsuki and osato, since tsuki kept doing his job (upholding the order) and osato had criminal powers (going against the order)? osato being sundance shots child was actually pretty weird too and suddenly having silver eyes, wasn’t sundance shot a sumio clone?
"Do you know the phrase "Flower, Sun and Rain"?
The answer is inside Kamui, don't let him get to you, he's not here, he's next door, he's just peeking in" before we loose him. Kamui goes missing.”
After finishing the whole trilogy, i think i understand this sentence from silver case. does it mean that everybody has this murderous intent inside of them? and that they can awaken it any time? kamui is always next door, he is always near us, he is our neighbour and i think in this context its referring to the kamui virus, the need to killtokio was being used as a tape, basically as a data holder for the fso? or was it the 2 other fractions? and what did he do in the end after deciding not to do the deal? and who even is tokios sister? i pretty much understood it all till this happened, we never got mentions about his sister aswell
what is happening with sumio, why does he “barely exist” and why did he have to come in contact with kurumizawa
he was getting observed aswell and was existing in 2 places for some reasonwhat happened between shiroyabu and kurumizawa, shiroyabu was tweaking for one whole chapter, why did kurumizawa suddenly “remove” or “kill” himself (the scene with kuroyanagi had me so sad, and jabroni saying hes tired)
very important: did ichigaya or kiryu die
this is a lot, but i would appreciate it if someone would even answer one question.
Does anyone have a way to disable the loud typewriter sound in The Silver Case?
I found a couple posts about this on Steam but nobody found a solution. The best thing in-game is to turn down the sound effects but then everything else is difficult to hear. It's a serious issue that greatly decreases my enjoyment of the game, and I'd love if someone could remove it or make it quiet.
Is the Steam version of KID really THAT bad?
I'm relatively new to Suda51. The only games of his which I've played as of today are NMH 1 and 2, with me beating the latter literally yesterday. I do however own a decent number of his games besides those, such as the silver case series, sotd and kid. I bought the latter on steam for a really cheap price a few years ago and have only just gotten around to wanting to play it.
That being said, I've heard that the steam version of the game is atrocious, with lots of issues and is essentially unplayable. I'm curious as to whether it really IS that bad. Is there a community mod that helps make it at least somewhat bearable? Or is it just absolutely unsalvagable? I should also note that my laptop has really shitty RAM and struggled to run both the NMH games already (I played their steam versions too. I did hear that these were bad but besides a few crashes here and there as well as aforementioned lag they were mostly fine).
If the steam version of KID is actually that bad, then I can just get the xbox version to play it instead. That is already how I own and plan on playing SotD. I'd just like some input from people who are likely to know more than me before making that decision. Thanks!
