I have a silly question about Voldemort that has probably already been answered.

Nearly Headless Nick told Harry that witches and wizards who fear death, or who have an extraordinary connection to their mortal life (like unfinished business), choose to leave an imprint of themselves behind instead of “going on”.

The basis of Voldemort’s entire story is that he is afraid of death. I’m sure he would believe he has unfinished business with Harry. Would Voldemort choose to be a ghost?

(I’m assuming his soul is too fractured for there to be enough to leave an imprint with, but (if there were) would be decide to stay on earth rather than move on?)

Edit: I apologize because I think I was unclear. I understand that he COULDN’T become a ghost. I’m asking whether he would have chosen to if it were an option open to him.

Silly Question about Hogwarts Enchantments

I will try to keep this as spoiler-free as I can… If the magic a person has done stops working when they die, then all of the “ancient enchantments” on Hogwarts should have evaporated when their casters died. How does Hogwarts still have them then? (Sorry, I did say it was a silly question.)
