Rundeck - ultimate data fields for running nerds

Hi everyone!

Even though the Cheetah 2 Ultra supports up to 8 data fields per screen, I still find myself missing some metrics. I hate having to switch between screens during a workout, so I created a workout extension that lets you display up to 17 data fields on a single screen.

You can configure everything directly in the Zepp app, just like the built-in workout settings. I've attached screenshots showing how it looks and how to configure it.

To install the app, simply scan the QR code in the screenshot. I attached it as the last photos. One is for Cheetah 2 Ultra and other 480x480 and one for smaller like Balance 1. DM me if you need QR for another version.

First, you'll need to enable Developer Mode (if you didn't do so in the past) by following these steps:

How to enable Developer Mode

  1. Open the Zepp app on your phone.
  2. Tap Profile in the bottom menu.
  3. Go to Settings → About.
  4. Tap the Zepp app icon 7 times in a row until a confirmation pop-up appears.
  5. Go back to Profile, select your connected watch, scroll to the bottom, and open Developer Mode.

Once Developer Mode is enabled, you'll be able to scan the QR code and install the extension.

I've included 5 free trial runs so you can try it out. If you find it useful, you can unlock the full version with a one-time payment of €6. Let me enjoy my coffee, I don't ask for much haha.

All metrics are native to Amazfit — nothing is calculated by the extension.

Even if you switch to another screen and then return to Rundeck, all metrics (pace, average pace, HR, average HR, etc.) will match the native workout metrics.

You can choose between full labels, abbreviated labels, or icons.

The HR zones match the watch's native HR zones, but you can also configure your own if you prefer.

There are plenty of other customization options, including:

  • Targets: pace, power, or HR
  • Threshold pace (LT pace)
  • Critical power
  • Zone bar settings: Auto (follows your target), HR zones, pace zones, power zones, or Off.

Let me know what you think or if you have any questions!

Cheetah 2 Ultra new amazing software update 6.3.25.7

This update finally let us put navigation to 3rd party training plan workout!

Which made my app redundant, but I am very happy for it, haha!

Also zooming is fixed and if you have advanced-up view in zooming it is too.

It was north up while zooming before the update.

This is amazing.

Thank you so much Amazfit! Way to go!

Structured workout and navigation route at the same time

I’ve run into a pretty serious issue with my Amazfit watch and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Until recently, I was using Zepp Coach for structured workouts, and everything worked fine — including the ability to use navigation during workouts. However, I’ve switched to a training plan from intervals.icu, and it seems like navigation is completely broken in these workouts.

Here’s what happens:

With Zepp Coach workouts, I can access workout settings and enable navigation without any issues.

With intervals.icu workouts, I only see a description screen with a “Dismiss” button.

If I press “Dismiss,” then manually go to navigation and select the route and then select the workout from Training, the watch starts the workout without any map and navigation.

There’s no navigation screen at all — I can’t even see the map at the final screen as I was used to in Zepp coach training workout.

It basically makes structured workouts from intervals.icu unusable for me, since I rely on navigation during runs.

I’ve tried everything I could think of, but nothing works. I also found posts about this issue from over a year ago, so it’s frustrating that it still hasn’t been fixed.

At this point, I’m seriously considering returning the watch because of this.

Has anyone found a workaround, or is this just a known limitation/bug that Amazfit hasn’t addressed?

Stryd training plan with Amazfit

Hi!

I didn't see Stryd as an option for 3rd party training plan sync connection in Zepp app.

Is it not supported? If not, is there a workaround like syncing from Stryd to Training peaks and to Zepp app?

Can someone with Stryd and Amazfit enlighten me in this regard?

Thanks!

Helio Strap + Cheetah 2 Ultra connected causing idle battery drain

I noticed that when both the Helio Strap and my Cheetah 2 Ultra are connected, there’s noticeable idle battery drain. I ran a simple test comparing usage with and without the strap:

When both devices were paired in the Helio Strap companion app, the watch drained 4% over 8 hours (AOD off).

When the Helio Strap was disconnected and not worn, the watch drained only 3% over 14.5 hours (AOD off, with continuous OHR and stress monitoring enabled).

This suggests that the Bluetooth connection between the watch and the strap is causing additional battery usage—possibly due to continuous syncing or HR data being overridden.

I’d prefer to wear both at the same time, but I don’t see much practical benefit beyond displaying the strap’s HR data on the watch.

For now, I’ll likely use the Helio Strap only as an external HR sensor on my biceps and for sleep tracking.

Shortcut for map navigation during GPS activity?

Hi,

I’m a new user of the Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra and I’m trying to figure out if there’s a way to set up a shortcut button to toggle map navigation.

I recently switched from the Coros Apex 4, which has a dedicated button for this, so I’m used to quick access. On the Amazfit, I assigned the map to a long press of the upper-right button since it was the only option that didn’t conflict with other functions like lap marking during workouts.

However, it seems that the map accessed this way is a separate app from the map used during GPS activities. When I open it via the button, it only shows a basic map without routing, and there’s no way to set navigation from there.

It feels like this could be improved, especially since the watch has multiple buttons, yet there’s no straightforward way to quickly toggle map navigation during an activity. Currently, the only option seems to be manually scrolling through screens to reach the map.

Is there any workaround for this?

Helio Strap HR instead of Amazfit watch OHR

Is it possible to continuously broadcast heart rate data from the Helio Strap to Amazfit watches? Not just as an external sensor during activities, but to use the strap’s real-time heart rate data instead of the watch’s optical sensor at all times?

Cheetah 2 Ultra and Balance Ultra on wrist?

Hi,

I’m looking for photos or videos of people wearing the Cheetah 2 Ultra and Balance Ultra. I’m deciding between these two, and the form factor is the main deciding factor. My wrist is fairly small, around 16 cm, so photos of these watches on-wrist would help a lot. If possible, please also mention your wrist size in cm — that would make it much easier for me to decide.
