Updated: UnShade GUI App to Clear Steam Shader Cache on Linux

Hey All,

Released this yesterday on GitHub and made a few improvements and could use a few eyes to see if I'm missing anything else in the script.

I know most people don't need to do this often enough to REALLY need to have dedicated App for it, but I like to debug (I guess I'm a masochist). So I wind up doing it alot when trying to isolate regressions for proton and mesa. So having a button for it is helpful lol.

I made a simple GUI Script to clear Steam Shader Cache

Hey everyone, first time I've ever shipped something so bear with me. I got tired of having to look up shader cache paths every time I needed to clear them after a driver update or Proton regression, so I threw together a little tool called UnShade.

It reads your Steam config to find all your libraries automatically, pops up a checklist so you can pick what to clear, and lives in your app menu so you never have to touch a terminal. One-line install. Also works in Game Mode using "Quick Launch" Decky Plugin.

Let me know if you run into any issues or anything looks broken on your setup. Hope someone finds it useful!

You're not updating wrong!

Hey All,

Seen this question at least twice daily lately. If you are trying to update your Handheld or HTPC, meaning you are on the deck version of Bazzite, you're not doing anything wrong. Updates for the Deck Image are held back right now intentionally.

Those images are undergoing some big changes under the hood. Once it's ready for prime time it'll be pushed out.

For Mods: Flair Request

Would it be possible to add flair for the various images so people can flair their posts for the version they are running?

Or if that's too much,

Can we get some simple ones like Installation, Troubleshooting, General Questions, Handhelds, HTPC, Hardware advice etc?

If these exist now I don't see them.
