Suing establishment for damaged goods

First time suing. Two brand new jackets were ruined by the tailor/owner of a dry cleaning business. They shortened them like I asked but very poorly. Looks like a child did it. Jackets are identical except for colour and the finished product has both jackets at different lengths and one has smaller pockets. Very rough job and they were also filthy when I got them back. They were super crispy brand new from the manufacturer I received them wrapped in the original plastic packaging so they weren’t even tried on before I dropped them off. I have the invoices of the jackets that were purchased less than a week before I dropped them for alterations.

I’m suing them for the cost of the jackets, court fees and missed wages and the amount I had to pay them to get the jackets back, around $1200.

Is it worth my time and what if they don’t want to pay even after judgement?

Can I tear this down

How does one determine whether or not it is safe to tear this wall down for the purpose of making the kitchen and living room one large space?
