I'm tired of all the AI mods grandpa

That's it, that's the post really.

Every time I go to look at new mods nowadays, I scroll and look and see AI was involved somehow. Assets, coding.. it really bums me out. If I wanted to use a mod that was made by AI, I'd just.. ask AI to do it instead of bother looking around. Though, really, I'd just make it myself instead of doing that. I have little drive to mod though and, besides, it's nice to see what other people come up with in terms of making something cool or cute.

All of these mods are just.. devoid of anything. They're concepts that are poorly done. Whatever happened to asking others for help if you needed something? Modding community is dead and replaced by robots. There's no more silly little mods that I can add for a good laugh. It's always something big and broken that doesn't play well or have any umph at all.

...that's literally it. At the end of the day, I can't do anything about it other than look for something else. But it is a little annoying seeing nothing but AI on the front pages when Rimworld's whole schtick is the development of story and creativity born of strife.

Edit: This is excluding translation. I would rather a translator be involved, but that is a highly unrealistic standard for a passion project. Finding community and looking up guides isn't. Translating into an entirely different language for the purpose of others being able to enjoy your work is a different category.

Got Ending 2 but did nothing but one thing to trigger it?

So I just did my very first run. Was flirty from the beginning, took care of my cat Solar and my plant every single day. Didn't eavesdrop, read some books, was really forthcoming because Grim's a cutie-patootie.

Day 7, my plant dies. My cat is sick. I died in Casper's arms. Very tragic, especially after getting confessed to and wanting to be with him. Very very good but I wanted to see Casper happy, so I looked up the ending (I was really sad my plant died despite me taking care of it). Apparently, you're supposed to get Ending 2 by being a right bitch, not taking care of your plant at all, but most importantly saying you'd take the taint on Day 6.

The only thing I did was say I would take the taint if it meant saving someone's life (re: Casper's and my cat's)

So I guess I'm wondering.. is that really the only trigger for Ending 2? Also, I didn't look into it too much, but apparently Casper is supposed to like- not like you? But he full on cried as I died in his arms. The game gave me Ending 2, plus I got the achievements for killing my plant and the Ending 2.

Currently playing up to the taint question again (because I want Casper and my fella to kiss!!) and I forgot to save scum, so.. it's not a big thing, I'm just super curious if answering the question like that is the ONLY trigger for Ending 2. I didn't read all of the other endings, but I happened to catch a glimpse of one, and it seems like I was on track for one of the best endings.

This is not me being bitter! I'm going to write fanfiction in a hot minute, probably, because I love tragic love stories. I'm just genuinely curious if that's the only trigger, because it seems like it's not supposed to be.

Edit: It was (at least, for my run). Said all the same things, took care of my cat/plant, day 7 and I am not dying. Time to see if I can give that Grim Reaper a smooch!

I realized how bad of a person I was in my colony.

I usually consider myself a very peaceful, benevolent, and kind leader when it comes to my colonies. I accept everyone, help every beggar and refugee I can, always seeking to heal raiders and give them great lodgings.

Except to those of a different ideology.

I keep my prisoners happy and healthy... while also systematically breaking them and turning them to my religion because often their religion promotes or requires raiding and I don't want to raid people. I just pulled off a massive raid of an Impid camp, had 14 raiders (big for me) and I was doing it for a infinite chemreactor. I didn't realize that it wasn't a bandit camp, not really. It was just an impid outpost from the impid tribe.

That got me thinking. I have two colonies right now; Blacksmith's Tree and Landfall. Blacksmith's Tree is located in a canyon and, since I'm on year 9 of this colony, it's pretty cramped. I wanted everyone to have their own 4 by 3 house and I made various facilities, a large kitchen and dining hall, a great rec room and a couple of chapels for the (accepted) religions in my colony. A few manor halls, too, for my nobles. But it was starting to get very cramped - especially because I wanted to be self-sufficient and had a large ranch and massive fields of crops. So, I upped my colony setting and made Landfall about 2 days one way south of Blacksmith's Tree.

When deciding who to send there, I decided to send the people that were not only skilled, but hated the current colony. That... was my raiders-turned-colonists who I'd kept in my prisons for two years to convert and recruit. Since Landfall's beginning, I've been putting colonists who were raiders in Landfall explicitly. A lot of my raids happen to be Impids, so Landfall's population is... a lot of impids. All of them are ex-raiders who I've converted.

I've been systematically erasing the culture and religion of a native tribe to then launch them to the southern pole (where they biologically suffer at) on an island to work on crops, ranches, and raw materials that then get funneled back to my main colony and used in luxuries, which often end up in the hands of my nobles and guardsmen. Who hate the impids.

Fuck.

As a side note, I told myself I would never accept any Yttakins because my colony's first child ever born, who was also the child of my highest ranking noble/most skilled fighter and the colony's main religion's high priestess (+de-facto leader), got decapitated during a drop pod raid in front of said nobleman. If you remember this post - that powerful vampire baby is the one who got decapitated. Literally the only way to kill this child. I vowed I would erase the Yttakin pirates off the map entirely and refuse to accept any Yttakins into my ranks.

...it sounds very racist. I am not a good person after all.
