This is considered disabled in civilised countries like UK.

- Geopolitical Insularity and Hyper-Sensitivity: Both societies exhibit an intense defensive posture against external criticism, international pressure, or media narratives that challenge their foundational state ideologies.
- Weaponization of Heritage: Both utilize historical narratives, ancient ties to the land or faith, and cultural preservation as supreme justifications for restricting internal dissent or modifying legal boundaries.

The incident came to the attention of the Maldives Police Service on July 25, 2026, after Maldivian public discovered the TikTok video she had unwittingly uploaded depicting the woman conducting a ritual near the bridge connecting Hulhumalé Phase I and Phase II.
This was treated as a serious and organised crime and the full force of the Maldivian police apparatus was unleashed to find this one woman who harmed nobody.
So make sure if you are vacationing or working in the Maldives to never upload photos and videos. The locals are still quite primitive and do not understand the concept of coexistence, respect and privacy.
