Worst blood sample

We only handle redtops and lavenders. We have mailers for monthly testing. We send 3 or 4 at a time and tell patients to throw the extras away when they no longer need testing. Patient hasn't needed testing from us for 4 months, but has successfully sent back correct samples in the past. We're a standalone lab in rented space and associated with a microbiology lab in name only. Different address, different umbrella department. Patient doesn't have orders for any other testing anywhere. Patient doesn't need an interpreter.

Literally the best guess I have is that the patient took their extra kits to their lab and someone there thought this was better than throwing the kit away, like they thought it would be funny. It has been very funny.
