No start, need help please.

I originally had a no crank issue so I bridged the negative terminal to the shifter bracket with a jumper cable and now I have a no start issue. I bridged the FP-B+ for the fuel pump, heard no prime. I then sprayed starting fluid in the intake and I smelled the starting fluid come out so I don’t know what it could be.

How does the whole clutch slave cylinder thing work?

My question might seem a little stupid, I already know how the assembly works with the hydraulic system and all, I was more so wondering about the whole clutch form thing in the c52 transmission. Is the fork supposed to be fully inserted into the trans, and does the cylinder rod press force on it to move the clutch. Because for me the fork is pushed out and doesn’t really seem fitted in. And this is for a 1988 MR2 with a blue top swap
