WorkCover claim- worth the stress?

Hi all, I work in admin for a very toxic small NGO that has overworked me and threatened to fire me if I didn’t work 2 x roles at once for no extra pay. I told my manager in December that I wasn’t sleeping & crying after work from stress etc and nothing changed until I broke down in April. I now only work 1 role, which is still insanely busy.

The cumulative stress has gotten to me and I’m struggling mentally. Even going to work raises my heart rate and my watch keeps telling me to calm down (haha). My psychologist and GP suggested going for Workcover but I’m so wary of the process. I know I’m lucky to even have a job. Has anyone been through the process for a psychological injury and not come out of it worse?

Thank you

Working during office renovations - my rights?

Hey all, I've been trying to find clear info but can't - my workplace (call centre) is planning renovations which will take months and include major works (plumbing, elevators etc) so will be noisy as hell. We will be expected to work as normal from the office.

My manager is also the OH & S person, he's also the general manager, and HR etc, no other superiors other than the board. I've emailed Safework last week but no reply, does anyone have advice on how to handle this? There's about 8 of us and we're pretty nervous about it all. He doesn't include us on meetings with the builders so we have no idea what is happening and no one else to ask. he'll be working from home of course though. what are our rights? :(

Does anyone else use humour to cope with stress/break tension, even just with yourself? I do and it helps me SO MUCH while I’m still struggling with recovery.

Yesterday my partner bought me a donut and I stressed about it for hours, literally walking back and forth between rooms agonising over whether to eat it or not.

I suddenly stopped and started laughing because IT IS EXTREMELY FUNNY TO BE 37 YEARS OLD AND SCARED OF A DONUT! It’s so helpful for me to laugh at myself with this stuff when I’m spiralling, I can shake it off. (PS I ate the donut, it was Nutella and it was delicious)
