LOST CAMERA – NARA PARK, AUGUST 18

(Previous pics from the camera below)
I lost a white Nikon compact camera at Nara Park around 5:00–5:30 PM on August 18. I believe I left it on a park bench near the entrance to the park restroom.

My family went back about two hours later to look for it, but unfortunately it was gone. I have already filed a report with the police, but I wanted to make one more attempt to find it by posting here.
The camera contains many precious photos and memories from our family’s trip to Japan. Honestly, I would even be grateful just to get the memory card back so I can recover the photos. The camera can be replaced, but those memories and moments cannot.

I truly hope that a kind person found it and handed it in to the police station. If you saw the camera or have any information at all, please contact me. I would really appreciate it.

Thank you so much for your help! 🙏

Is it okay to lay out a picnic mat just about anywhere?

Just a small (and probably silly) question, but I have no idea how to search for it on Google.
My family loves laying out a picnic mat in random places we come across, just to have a snack and enjoy the the atmosphere. It was something we did all the time when I lived in Europe.
However, I’m not sure if there are any unspoken rules in Japan that I should be aware of. For example, is it only acceptable to have a picnic in large parks? Is it considered inappropriate to sit on the grass? Or are there riverbanks and streams where you’re not supposed to stop and sit?
We never litter, we always respect nature, keep our voices down, and never play music through speakers. I just want to respect the local culture and avoid being an annoying tourist.

Edit: I should probably clarify what I meant by “anywhere” to avoid any misunderstanding. I don’t mean crowded sidewalks, residential streets,... In my mind, a picnic always means finding a quiet spot surrounded by nature.
Thank you for the advice!

Prejudice against Viet. Is it that bad?

I know you've seen some of SEA people don't respect the culture while traveling, especially Viet and Chinese, i totally agree with you. But today I've read some story that people literally turn their back when they know about tourist's nationality, is that really happening? And is it common? Do you know how to distinguish them from highly educated people?

I'm Viet and it makes me so sad. Just want to say that Vietnam still have so many other cities and provinces, those bad people doing bad things in your country don't represent for all of us, they're labor export meanwhile some others come to travel/shopping/experience new culture, we're not like them and people like me hate them as well, most of them come from some provinces already having bad reputation even domestically. They've made it harder for the rest of us to travel/study abroad.

I'm sorry about what they did to your country, but I hope you don't lump all of us together. On a bright side, there is still hardworking people trying their best at your country, they're good people so pls don't judge at the first time you meet them just because you know where they're from, It can make a good person feel discouraged from trying.
