Hybrid MPG Check

Hybrid MPG Check

Just checking to see if anyone is getting the rated MPG on the new hybrid. I’m still on the first tank of gas from the dealer, and 26.8 isn’t bad for a big SUV this size, but getting nowhere near 30+.

For reference is this SX Prestige X-Line AWD and this was country back roads doing about 40-50mph the whole way with a few traffic lights. Also driving the whole way in ECO mode. And trying to “hyper mile” when I can.

Additional info: today it was about 95° and has the AC set to 73° in the front and rear. 2 adults and 1 baby in the car.

Is the AWD system in the 2027 hybrid worse than the 2025? They got rid of the lock button..?

I noticed they got rid of the lock button in the 2027 models. Does this make the AWD system worse than the 2025? Doesn’t this button means all 4 wheels get equal power under 25 mph?

Already issues with Telluride Hybrid

Not sure how to feel about my brand new Telluride Hybrid already having issues. We had the car for 1 week and less than 200 miles and have had:

- Car died 4 times in a week 12v battery
- Driver door handle doesn’t go in all the way, it sticks out a bit
- at highway speeds the steering wheel is shaking

Kia Service has had engineering and the shop foreman working together and they have me a base model 2025 telluride for the meantime (it’s dirty and smells but it’s a car)

Just not sure how I feel. This is my first Kia ever. Most expensive car we’ve ever bought, and we have literally just taken it home from the dealer and having all these issues.

The 12v I heard is a battery drain software update that will solve that. The others I’m not sure. I’m trying to remain hopeful but this is a really bad first experience.

Brand New Telluride Hybrid DEAD

Just bought a brand new 2027 Telluride hybrid SX prestige X Line on Saturday. Drove it Sunday and haven’t driven it since as I look to schedule PPF install. Went to move it out of the garage today and it’s completely DEAD.

Called Kia roadside and we have someone coming in about 1 hour. This is NOT what I want in a brand new family vehicle.

I didn’t leave the car or any lights on I’m 100% certain. This is an AWFUL experience.

UPDATE: It was the 12v battery that was completely dead. All our seat settings and nav settings are completely gone (like setting home address). It’s like getting in the car brand new from factory which is really annoying. Called the sales rep and he claims to have no knowledge of why this would happen.

2027 X-Line All Black Problem

I know it might be too new to tell but maybe someone can offer expertise from a previous vehicle. I prefer the look of the X-Line, however all the mix of plastic-y black and gloss piano black on the front and side trim of the car I’m afraid ANYTHING is going to damage it.

Even car wash but especially any road debris etc and don’t want to have a brand new $60k car have all scratches in the beautiful black trim.

Is this fear real, or something I shouldn’t even think about?

Telluride hybrid, SX prestige X-Line vs Palisade calligraphy hybrid

I keep going back-and-forth between these two cars for our next family car. My gut is telling me I like the Kia more but the third row feels cramped compared to the Palisade where it’s powered and you can slide it way back and get extra legroom.

Also, the guys at my local Kia dealership are total assholes. I have them $1000 off MSRP but they’re acting like this is a limited edition car and only 100 will ever be made.

My local Hyundai dealership the people literally couldn’t be nicer. They’re sitting there talking to me about the pros and cons even talking about the Telluride in positive fashion and saying ultimately it’s up to me and they want me to be happy and right now they’ve come $4000 off MSRP.

I’ve watched tons of videos and everybody says that they basically drive the same but in my own experience with the Hyundai Palisade two times now it does not feel as sporty and feels very floaty and huge like a boat. I don’t get that feeling as much or even at all in the Kia Telluride. I can tell it’s a large SUV, but the Hyundai seems borderline uncomfortable.

What discounts are people actually getting on a 2027 Telluride Hybrid

I’m shopping for a 2027 Telluride Hybrid SX Prestige X-Line in southeastern PA (Philly suburbs) and have gotten multiple dealers down to about $1,000 off MSRP.

The problem is every dealer is giving me the same pitch: “Most are still selling at or above MSRP, and if we discount more than $1,000 we’re losing money.”

Maybe that’s true, maybe it’s a sales line.

For those who have bought recently, what did you actually pay vs MSRP?
