So, I’m back

About a year and a half ago, I asked a question here about Murphy aircraft. The responses to that question were a little good, and a little bad, but not bad enough to stop me from putting down a deposit on a Radical. I’ve spent the time between now and that fateful day a year and half ago waiting through misleading promises, multiple disappointments, and learning how credit card chargebacks work. Now that my money and I have been reunited, I am back in the market for a kit plane and am having a really hard time settling on a specific brand or model. I want something easy to build, that is moderate STOL capable, has a decent cruise speed, has a decent useful load and could be put on floats someday. I think I’ve settled on the following models, but am open to opinions

- zenith super duty or new super cruzer
- rans s-21
- bearhawk 4 or companion

The struggle is this; the zeniths are tricycle gear planes and are kind of um… ugly, the rans doesn’t appear float friendly, and the bearhawks are too expensive and on the longer end of build times. I’m sure someone will mention the RV-15, which may be a great option but I don’t like that they don’t have a fuselage kit out yet

Thanks for reading through my ramble, I know this question gets asked constantly, but I want to feel special and get my own unique responses. Any help is appreciated.

(US) Gambia scam proof?

I have a family member who is in the midst of being scammed and is absolutely resistant to the idea. Sounds like it’s a pretty common scam, an individual from The Gambia has reached out to her with a sad story and has had her send USD for food multiple times now and has sent pictures back to “confirm” what the money was spent on. The scammer is now asking for money because “his sister burned herself” and my family member is now asking the family to loan her money to keep helping.

Does anyone have any tricks to help me prove to my niece that this is all fake? She is 100% convinced she has a friend in Africa that she is helping

Traditional relationship dynamics

From what I stumble across and read on Reddit, it seems there is a tradition in Ukraine (and other Slavic states as well) of men being the provider in relationships. It sounds like men are expected to pay for almost everything, men take the lead in decision making, etc. This is a bit old fashioned from a western perspective and is hard to wrap my head around since women over here are almost the exact opposite.

I have two questions on this. One, is this truly accurate? Is this traditional relationship dynamic something that really exists in Slavic societies? Is it fading out at all, or is it well established and accepted by most?

And two, what exactly is expected of women in these traditional relationships? It is easy to find information on what women seem to expect from men, but what do the women need to do to carry their side of these relationships?

Thank you to anyone who answers this. I am only asking out of curiosity. I am currently in a happy relationship and am not looking for a Ukrainian bride at this moment in my life. 😂
