CEC Inland — FD stuck "in progress" for 45+ days, background check still open. Anyone else experience this long a gap?

Hi everyone, hoping for some insight or similar experiences.

Timeline:

  • AOR: Feb 26, 2026
  • Medical passed: May 12, 2026
  • ADR (marriage certificate): sent Apr 27, resolved May 15
  • Biometrics completed: May 14, 2026
  • Final Decision line appeared: June 30, 2026 — still shows "in progress"
  • Background check: still shows "in progress" as of today (Aug 19)

That's 51 days since the FD timestamp with zero movement on either line. No PFL, no additional ADR, no interview request, no new messages (still only 4 in my portal).

What I've already tried:

  • Called IRCC (agent confirmed no flags, said "~1 month left," ~17,200 CEC applicants ahead in queue)
  • Submitted a webform inquiry (Aug 10, still waiting on response)
  • Ordered GCMS notes via ATIP (submitted July 21, still waiting)
  • Checked the official IRCC processing time estimator — also says "about 1 month left" (updated Aug 10)

Profile: hospitality industry (Hilton), India-born, no criminal history, no sensitive-industry work. Previously had an inland spousal sponsorship that was withdrawn (not refused) before switching to CEC.

Has anyone had a final decision stage sit "in progress" this long? Did GCMS notes or the webform response actually reveal anything useful in your case? Any insight appreciated, mainly trying to figure out if this is just a slow but normal background check, or if I should be doing something differently.

Thanks in advance.

Looking for a student/emerging photographer for one professional headshot (paid) — Toronto

Hi all — I need a single professional LinkedIn headshot taken and I'd love to give the work to a photography student or someone building their portfolio.

**The job:** one look (dark grey suit), clean neutral background, tight head-and-shoulders framing, 5 final edited high-res shots to pick from. Realistically a 20-30 minute shoot.

**Paid** — tell me your rate when you reach out. Downtown Toronto or wherever works with your setup (studio, campus space, or a clean wall and good light is honestly fine for this).

If you're interested, drop a comment or DM with 2-3 examples of portraits/headshots you've shot. Thanks!
