So I've plugged my xbox into my msi gaming monitor via hdmi. Using a prozor converter at the moment. Have a ElectronXout on the way as I've heard they may be better for my setup. Unit is set to ntsc. Boots up fine and I see the xbox smash screen in what looks like 480p. But when bmc loads up it all looks fine until I select my profile then I get the above message. I click ok it goes black, i then see the loading icon in top left, then it just goes black.

Any ideas or workarounds?

So this unit is got from ebay came with this mod already on it. If I select MS Dashboard all it does is show the evolution x logo and then return to normal screen.

I want to reset it to stock, and then apply the rocky5 endgame soft.

Ive tried burning the extras disc but the disc doesnt load. I also tried Truhexen 2021, again burning to a disc but that won't load either.

It will load a game fine so I know the disc drive is ok.

So I've just gotten a new xbox off of ebay as spare and repairs, they didn't have an AV cable so I took a gamble on it as it was cheap. To my luck it works fine, even has an old softmod installed "evolution x"

I was planning on doing the endgame softmod anyway.

Took it apart to clean and redo thermal paste etc and 2 things caught my eye.

1, theres 5 cpu capacitors installed and they are 6.3v 1500, i thought you only needed 3 installed at 6.3v 3300

And 2, when I took the gpu heatsink off, it said made in China on the underside. Could this be an aftermarket replacement?

Like I say, its all working fine, I was just curious as its definitely been opened before as the stickers underneath had been tampered with.
