My -to be replaced- setup

My -to be replaced- setup: last days of the 40" ultrawide before going dual Studio Display XDR

Last photos of this setup before a big change.

The 40" Dell ultrawide has served me well, but after seeing 5K side by side with it, I couldn't unsee it: at 140 ppi macOS text is never quite crisp. I've been living with one Studio Display XDR for a few days now and the difference for code and docs is huge.

Coming next: a Mac Studio M5 Ultra with 256GB RAM and 2× Studio Display XDR (standard glass, VESA). Main one centered on my current arm, second one angled ~30° on an Ergotron LX Pro. Update post once it's done.

Current gear:
- Mac Studio M2 Max (M5 Ultra 256GB RAM on the way)
- Dell U4025QW 40" 5K2K (leaving soon)
- Fully Jarvis bamboo desk 160×80 + Jarvis monitor arm
- Steelcase chair
- KEF LSX II
- Samson Q9U on a boom arm + Focusrite
- Logitech StreamCam
- Magic Keyboard with Touch ID & numeric keypad, Logitech
- Felt desk mat, walnut desk shelf, [BUSY bar]

Question for those running two XDRs: any mini-LED blooming with dark IDE themes that bothers you day to day? And how did you deal with speaker placement with two 27" side by side?

Bodyscan 2: hardware held back by the app

Hello,

I have the a Bodyscan 2 since few weeks, here's my impression (I work in tech):

The app did improve in terms of UI/UX, kuddos to the team for that (i'm a client since 2013), and body composition (zones) is a nice UI to watch, but I feel like the hardware is held back by the app:

- No I don't want to chat with the health assistant, I don't have time for that; I want intelligence on my health pushed to me, not data type by data type intelligence though like you're doing now.

- I was already having a Withings+ subscription, and the "insider program" failed (no screens, no steps) to activate/extend my subscription, so basically I got ripped off of a year's worth (I just opened a ticket for that)

- I keep going back to Bevel application to kind of understand the data (I set Bevel to Commander when he's very direct with what you need to understand); Also the ratio data displayed on the screen is really good compared to Withings (where you have to scroll / swipe so much)

Withings+ keeps saying stuff that brings no value to me (you slept less, you walked less) or you have to scroll/swipe so much to read/discover stuff that my ADHD kicks in and then I remember absolutely nothing of what I just read.

- The UI is good but damn, you need to scroll down, swipe left/right do consume all the categories about your health (not mentionning "progress" menu);

- I feel like you need to have a decent dekstop version of your app; Not the crappy one from a decade ago (not kidding) now that you do (and can do so much) with all the data you have.

Right now the size of my phone limits my ability to give any credit to the metrics captured by the body scan 2 besides my weight. Is it consistent ? Is there anomalies ? Well I don't know because of the app both UX and size limitation (phone)

0 intelligence, data from BodyScan 2 not even accessible inside this web version from 2010 era

I would love to see for example my body composition (6 zones) from 1 week ago to the left, then to the right the one from right now to kind of see my evolution;

Or change the date range and check from 1 month ago. You get the idea

Sure it could work well if you have so few data captured, but I do have an apple watch, a bed sensor, a thermo, a bodyscale 2, I have a LOT of data. So I usually end up scrolling without paying too much on the data because it require so much attention / screen switching.

If I go back to the app: I don't want less data, I want a clean condensed one (i'm on iPhone 17 Pro) that needs to consume my focus/attention on certain data/analysis

Then If I want to go deeper, I don't mind swiping/scrolling

Sorry if it's a harsh feedback, I want you guys to suceed; but right now the premium++++ price you pay (500€) for this device is not living to the exceptation of having a premium experience;

Roaming decisions makes no sense !?

Hello,

In our office, I recently upgraded to U7 XG and U7 XGS APs;

I really don't get the roaming decision; I hope i messed up the settings and that it's fixable:

My MacbookPro M4 is connecting to APs that are far, not in sights instead of the clear sighted AP U7 Pro XGS 4 meters away from my device
Right now I have -80db because the wrong AP is chosen for me.

It keeps going to the:

- U7 Pro XGS on ground level (below me)
- the one 10 meters away in the stairs, on ground level;

I'm not moving my Macbook pro. Sometimes if i'm lucky it connects to the most logical one.
I've added caption to each image.

You can see my Macbook Pro and the U7 Pro XGS in clear sight;

Upper plan is ground level, where i'm not; Lower plan is 1st floor, where i'm sitting

The roaming logs; \"Escaliers\" is the AP from the Stairs on ground level; \"Open space RDC\" is ground level, and \"Open space etage\" is 1st floor where I should be connecting to ? (the one in picture)
