I genuinely don't understand one thing about the whole Abhishek–Laila situation.

There are only two possibilities:

1. They were actually dating.

If that's true, then why would Abhishek's mother publicly refer to Laila as "just a fan"? Calling your son's ex-girlfriend a fan would come across as quite dismissive, which doesn't seem very likely to me if they had genuinely been in a relationship.

2. They were never dating.

Then why was Abhishek consistently liking her posts for months, following not just her but several members of her family, and why was she present at family events?

PS : I know she is irrelevant for you now, but this is all new to me. I'd really appreciate if you can give your opinion. And promise this will be the last post about her.
