Tabby girlies

Me and my partner adopted 2 kitties last month, and they are so adorable, i just cant!

Its been a good 10 years since I had a kitten— before i had an indoor cat with a sick mom so had to adopt her around 1-1,5 months and that lady had an early heat and gifted us with 10, yes literally 10 babies + lots of outdoor kitties in my garden.

It is basically our first time having a kitten independent as adults, and compared to our super low-maintenance senior baby, they are trouble! But also the cutest things ever. It was a great decision.

Turns out as a tabby lover, i barely knew about tabbies, only started to learn since one of them is grey tabby and other one is black/brown ish.

Now some people around us trying to convince us the grey baby got some “wild cat” gene because of her belly marks and for having really big paws for her size 😭 Just wanted to share these cute ladies with you, with a bonus of their elder sister!

Hello,

Please ignore grammar and language, as I have been spending half my day writing in academic English, which is not even my 2nd foreign language; my brain is a mess.

As the title suggests, I am writing my thesis, and I am constantly freaking out. I am in a rush, as I have applied for one and got a PhD position offered, which is valid if I get an above-average grade by the end of June.

My concern is not about the timeline, as I have 20% of my thesis written and I can easily go 2-3k words a day when I hyperfocus, and I have approximately 30k to go. I am also not concerned about not getting an above average grade, as I have completed all my courses, my thesis is the last thing I will be graded from and even if I get the worst possible grade, my grade will be above average.

I took a nice year, joined colloquiums and thesis modules to discuss and present my thesis and my topic evolved into what it is now, and I have been reading my primary texts (studying medieval studies, focus on literature) I have been reading on my primary sources and tons of other things and I basically know what to do, yet the more I spiral I feel like things change and at this point I am worried if I am too deep in sociology/psychology than literature.

Again, even this is not the reason I freak out about.

I am freaking out because I have found that in my department, once we start our thesis, we are not allowed to discuss the thesis with our supervisors. Bamboozled. Was it not the whole point of having a supervisor? I get to discuss general ideas, etc., but I am not allowed to send any drafts, for example, to get guidance, and I am FREAKING out. My poor boyfriend became my full time supervisor — im a literature girl, he is an engineer, at this point, he is better than a BA literature student in my topics.

Is this normal? Did you get feedback on your drafts, and those of you who were alone on the ride, how did you handle it? I was thinking about asking friends from my field to read and give me reviews/feedback, but then I started to think if I am even allowed? Or is it ethical? Again, it is not about changing my text with their words nor to add their ideas, but as this post may demonstrated, I yap and yap and sometimes loose the thread of my thoughts.

Looking forward to your tips, and hopefully, support!

Hello everyone!

We will, hopefully, move to Würzburg by the end of July, from Hamburg. I got a PhD/WiMi job starting from 15th of August.

Apartment hunting, however, is not going well, as expected in Germany. We do track all the ads on several platforms, but I just wanted to also share here in case there would be any tips :)

We are looking for places at least 3 rooms, and possibly starting from 65-70square meters. Since I will be working at the uni, Campus Hubland, we want to stay close to uni, but I am also willing to travel up to 45 mins with public transportation until I can convert my driver's license to a German one.

My partner is also working a government job, therefore we have enough stabil income + savings.

We do have 3 cats, and we do also have a full insurance for damages, although our little ones are very well behaved and have not caused any problems up until now.

We are looking for an unfurnished place. We smoke (cigarettes), but never smoke at home, both due to (disgusting) smell staying home + our senior cat has asthma.

We would be happy to find a place that has a kitchen already, and would be willing to take over a beatiful kitchen, too.

Shortly put:
Young couple with 3 well behaved cats looking for an apartment:
- Budget 1600+ warm (plus parking space for 1 car)
- Min. 3 rooms
- Max 45 min away from Hubland Campus
- Not furnished
- Possibly from end of July on but can discuss further.

Thank you in advance :)
