Installed an Apple AirTag under my saddle to track my bike!

Just installed an Apple AirTag under the saddle to track my bike in case someone tries to steal it. I’m going to cover it with black electrical tape to protect it from dust and water. The best part is I'll easily be able to change the battery after a year without having to peel the whole thing off. Hopefully, it works out!

Should I accept Regalia Gold (First Year Free) as an upgrade to my LTF Diners Club Privilege?

For the last six months, I’ve been using the HDFC Diners Club Privilege CC, which is Life-Time Free (LTF) with a 3L limit. It was my first credit card, offered by HDFC because I hold a salary account with them. My net monthly income is around 2.5L, and my CIBIL score is 794.

I’ve been unhappy with the card due to acceptance issues; it gets declined at several places where Visa or Mastercard are accepted seamlessly everywhere.

Because of this, I emailed HDFC requesting an upgrade to the Regalia Gold as an LTF card. Here is the response I received from them:

Email from HDFC

Looking at the numbers, I don’t think I’ll be able to hit the 4L annual spend milestone required to waive the renewal fee. My monthly expenses are around 60K, but a major chunk of that is house rent paid in cash.

Currently, my card setup is:

  • Slice CC LTF: Daily UPI spends
  • Swiggy CC LTF: Swiggy orders
  • Diners Club Privilege LTF: Other online expenses and two flight tickets every month

Is it possible to negotiate or push HDFC to make the Regalia Gold LTF for me? Or should I just accept it with the fee? Given my spending patterns, is the upgrade actually worth it?

Reapplying for Amazon Pay ICICI card 6 months after rejection, too soon?

I've been rejected twice before for the Amazon Pay ICICI card.

The first time was 3 years ago when I applied right after getting my first job. I didn't have a credit card or even a CIBIL score back then. My annual income was 10L.

Then, I applied again 6 months ago and got rejected a second time.

For context, around that same time 6 months ago, my HDFC Relationship Manager offered me a Lifetime Free (LTF) Diners Club Privilege credit card, which I accepted. A month later, I also got the HDFC Swiggy card. My annual income right now is 40L, and my CIBIL score is 794. However, my credit age is only 6 months. I've kept my credit utilization under 10%.

Now that the 6-month cooling-off period for the Amazon Pay ICICI card is officially over, should I apply immediately or wait a bit longer?

The catch is that I have a lot of recent CIBIL inquiries. I applied for several cards recently and got rejected for almost all of them, except Slice. Right now, I hold 3 cards in total.
