The Minions are now officially part of the Cthulhu Mythos

I just watched the new Minions movie, and a cute version of Cthulhu shows up—plus, there’s a pair of monsters named Howard & Phillips. Some Lovecraftian tropes are present too, and in the end, >!the Minions defeat Cthulhu and imprison him with an arcane spell, saving the world.!< Absolute cinema.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies feels like a Total War: Warhammer film with all the crazy units and heroes

I think Troy nails the aesthetics and is gorgeous to look at.

And what do you think of the Warhammer campaign maps? I've just started playing Warhammer II and I'm distracted by how ugly the trees are in Reikland for some reason, besides looking very busy. Is Warhammer III better in this regard?

What other strategy games do you think have beautiful maps?

It's fascinating to see a game that was so poorly received at launch continue to thrive to this day. Currently, Rome II is the most played historical Total War game on Steam, second only to Warhammer III overall.

The launch was plagued with technical problems and a lack of features, but the foundation of a good game was there. A year later, with DLCs and updates, the game became enjoyable with the Emperor Edition. Further on, with the free and paid content added by CA Sofia in 2017, I would say it became a very good game, perhaps even great, with a vast range of content.

I know Rome II still has its detractors today, but I believe that while it's not the best the series has to offer, it's a game that has earned its place in the canon, being one of the most fun Total War games. Proof of this is that Rome II, 8 years since its last content updates, is now played more than the recent and successful Three Kingdoms.

And CA is aware of this, so much so that they confirmed Rome II will receive new content. I'm eager to see what it will be in the live stream.

Where are my Rome II fellas at?
