Hi everyone,
I am trying to track down the exact historical source of a specific piece of archival footage used in the opening credits sequence of the 2017 movie Darkest Hour (directed by Joe Wright).
During the opening montage of newsreels, there is a shot of Wehrmacht soldiers standing in ominous rows. Can be seen here.
I assume this was licensed from a major archive like British Pathé, Movietone, Getty Images, or the Imperial War Museum, but I haven't been able to find the exact reel beyond a site with a £29 fee to download.
Does anyone recognize the specific event being shown, or know the ID/name of this archival clip? Any leads on which database to search would be amazing. Thank you!
